A Shade Too Far: A Humorous Paranormal Women's Fiction (Magic After Midlife Book 3)

by Deborah Wilde

About this book

Midlife is rarely easy, but for Miri, it has become downright lethal. After a daring job goes sideways, she finds herself saddled with a demon curse that threatens everything she holds dear. With the lives of her loved ones hanging in the balance and her fragile alliance with the local vampire leadership crumbling, Miri must navigate a treacherous labyrinth of secrets and shifting loyalties. She is officially out of patience and running out of time.

This installment of the Magic After Midlife series perfectly captures the essence of paranormal women's fiction, featuring a fierce, relatable heroine who refuses to let age dampen her fire. Balancing high-stakes urban fantasy mystery with laugh-out-loud banter, the narrative explores the vulnerability beneath Miriโ€™s snarky exterior as she battles both supernatural threats and her own nagging insecurities.

Fans of slow-burn romance will be hooked by the simmering, complicated tension between Miri and a certain wolf shifter. Between the found-family dynamics and the pulse-pounding danger, this story offers the perfect escape for readers craving a smart, supernatural adventure. If you are looking for a witty, bingeable series where a middle-aged protagonist kicks serious butt, your next obsession starts right here.

A Shade Too Far by Deborah Wilde - โค love it

This is the 3rd book and first time I've read by Deborah Wilde. The books are terrific, a page turner and several well written funny lines and stories. I'm in love with the cast of characters and looking forward to finishing the next 3 book in the series. The only downside will be when there are no more books with these characters. Brilliant, well done, Deborah Wilde is a great story teller. I highly recommend you read this series. Sincerely, Greg Shank ) One person found this helpful

Angst & excitement

I liked this book, but it had a lot of angst in it. I really don't understand why Miri is insisting on saving a murderer. The side characters are all great. )

An Absolute Delight

This book delves into many of Miri's insecurities-- you know that inner voice that tells you that no matter what you are doing, it is not enough. Because even though Miri has embraced her magic, she is still left with the stigmas that go with her special brand of magic. Watching Miri continue to balance her relationship with her daughter and her ex-husband is both entertaining and poignant. For the first time, her daughter sees Miri's magic and, like any interaction with teenaged girls, that...

As usual, well written with insights into the human condition. Ms Wilde never fils to deliver. Love her books, even more so as she is one of the very few authors I can read without worrying about bad spelling, grammar, and stupid mistakes! That.irka me no end and Ms Wilde is very thorough while being an excellent storyteller! I recommend this series especially if you love a good story filled with humor!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ )

This book was sooooooo funny. I love the snarky comments. The way Meri gets along with most everyone, well some of them. I have a daughter who is one of my favorite people some of the time. Now my oldest granddaughter is like her Mom, but Amber ( the GD) and I have a great relationship. BTW she's 16. Funny right? So when I'm reading about Meri and Sadie's relationship is like mine with Amber. Although she's really noticing the boys. They come before Moody. Moody is me. My oldest grandson named...
