And So The Breaking Begins: Mindbreaker Duet, Book 1 (An Age of War and Prophecy 3)

by Rose Farnoz
This is the final chance to save your soul. Lucifer has learned a secret about you. He can invade his demons inside you, hiding them within a place you cannot escape: your memory. However, mortal bodies were not designed to hold this kind of evil. Your essence becomes infected, your skin breaks apart, your eyes darken, your body decays, and worst of all, it awakens your hunger for blood.
When your untimely death delivers you to Duat, a realm for those who have departed before their time, you tear through the world as part of Lucifer’s possessed horde, nearly destroying it. The realm is saved only when your demonic soul is cast into the Void, and now the Elders strip every soul of memory to prevent Lucifer’s demons from entering again.
So, when Claira suffers a sudden death and arrives in this realm with hers intact, she must fight against the execution of her soul in the merciless Elders Court. Soon, fate entwines her with London, a gargoyle cursed to inherit Lucifer’s chains, and Gabriel, an angel bound by rigid vows and a deep hatred for anything touched by darkness. When whispers of Lucifer’s return echo through Duat, Claira is thrust back into the mortal world. She is burdened with a cursed medallion that binds her in a trap unless she can complete its demanding request before time runs out.
Battling rotting witches, ravenous goblins, and soul-stealing fallen angels, Claira is forced to confront the creatures hunting for her soul and the realm's buried secrets. She finds herself falling deeply in love with both London and Gabriel, and just as her heart is torn between them, Claira learns a devastating secret about herself, one that changes everything.

I couldn’t put it down, literally. Every page pulled me deeper into Claira’s unraveling fate, and I was hooked from the first line. The blend of thriller, romance, and fantasy is electric, but it’s the emotional depth that wrecked me in the best way. London and Gabriel aren’t just celestial forces, thier heartbreak wrapped me long after finishing the book. The QR-coded soundtrack made the experience feel cinematic, like I was living inside the story. Everything is haunting, beautiful, and...

⭐ 5 out of 5 stars 🌶️ 0 out of 5 A seriously underrated indie read. The book actually opens with Claira’s death, which immediately pulls you into the mystery of what happens next. From there the story dives into the afterlife and where souls go, bringing in angels, demons, gargoyles, vampires, heaven, and hell. But none of it feels recycled. The lore and origins are completely different from the usual takes, and somehow it all blends together in a way that just works. Claira’s journey as she...

This book was awesome! The author did an amazing job telling a story while also laying the groundwork for the history of the world she built. She purposely left out a lot to keep the reader guessing themselves on what was the truth. The ending was written beautifully and tied everything together. I can’t wait to see where this goes! In addition to this being a great story, the author did a few really cool things I’ve never seen before. She has a soundtrack BUT has links to specific songs...
