As the conflict between primeval supernatural enemies heats up, her choice will tip the balance.
Six months ago, Anastasia Fiore, an intelligence officer in Italy’s foreign security service, led an even more secret life on the side. She ran off-the-books missions with her friends Olivia and Beta, American and Czech foreign intelligence officers. The three women shared the same goal: take down predators.
And then Stasia’s life got way more interesting.
After a complicated, surreal mission that went sideways, Stasia learned that she has angel blood, making her an Elioud. She’s seen what Elioud warriors are called to do, and she’s not interested. Stasia can handle herself with a traditional surujin, a British WWII combat knife, or a 9mm handgun. But she prefers crafting a cover identity so compelling she can charm what she needs from her target instead. In fact, she’s so skilled that the Carabinieri’s Art Squad requests her help tracking down a stolen Rembrandt painting.
That’s what she was doing when Miró Kos, a Croatian Elioud she’s already chained, slashed, and drugged, showed up. He was there tracking the buyer, and whether Stasia likes it or not, she’s now inside another surreal mission. One that will make her question what her Elioud blood means. And what the quiet, intense warrior means to her. For his part, Miró cannot let another woman come before his duty. Or near his heart.
As Stasia sets out to recover the Rembrandt, she and Miró discover that there is more than a stolen painting at stake. And more than one Dark Irim stalking Stasia.

I enjoyed the book very much. I especially liked the passage when Stasia is channeling Sophie Loren. I will admit that I read that passage twice before moving on. ) One person found this helpful

The Flower & The Blackbird by Liane Zane is the second book in the Elioud Legacy series and the second one that I have read by this author. The author brings action, attraction, and suspense to a new paranormal romantic suspense urban fantasy espionage thriller. The novel is largely set in France, Italy, and Albania with some side trips to Croatia and North Macedonia. Until six months ago, Anastasia “Stasia” Fiore led a double life. She’s an intelligence officer in Italy’s foreign security...

This paranormal romance thriller has it all. Romance, suspense, plenty of action, angel magic, and love. I finished the first book and picked this one up right away. Now I'm waiting for the third. The plot revolves around an art theft, and the magical, angelic emanations emitted by a specially commissioned tryptych of paintings. The plot also revolves around two agents torn by a past mystery that only one of them knows about, their extreme attraction to one another, and their conflicting...

Well-written, fun to read. This is book two, but you don't have to read book one to love it. The big picture is a thriller (good versus evil, angels versus demons on earth) that keeps you turning pages. Pile on a hot-mess romance (angel-human love - ooh la la!) integral to the story - you totally pull for these two to end up together. Setting is Europe, primarily Italy, with plenty of well-researched details that immerse you in the story. Can't wait for book three of the trilogy ) One person...

This is the second book in the Elioud Legacy series by Liane Zane and it’s a terrific read! This story follows an Italian intelligence officer, Stasia, who’s on a joint mission with the Italian art squad to track down a stolen Rembrandt painting. As a skilled intelligence operative she has impressive self defense skills as well as sultry charms of persuasion. When her mission inadvertently intersects with that of a friend’s group of trained Elioud warriors, the stakes get ratcheted up...
