This entire series completely blew me away and took me by suprise. I was on the hunt for a good audible series to dive into, but I feel like I’ve read/listened to everything good at this point. Well, SURPRISE! I would love to acquire the paper/hard back physical copies at some point as well. Wow! I love how this author went about telling this story. Pretty much giving part 2 first and this is part 1 but now everything from the first book makes sense. I don't know how to feel though. My heart aches for zagan. He's been through so much and his only salvation is now with another. I'm kind rooting for him though. As harsh as he was I felt the connection between him and Violet. This whole book is a flash back to what happened to Violet before the events of the first book. It explains who she is, what her life was like, how she ended up married to the prince of darkness. The prince of darkness is as much of a prisoner as Violet is in the dark court and she has known him almost all of her life even though she thought he had been lost.
