After venturing into the underworld, I have some badass goddess powers. In fact, I used them to rid the earth of the angelic scourge. Only problem is, the gods I stole the magic from are kind of pissed. They keep trying to kill me when I summon their power. Worse, the angels are back on earth, harder to kill than ever. When my lover Adonis is abducted by our enemy, I do whatever I can to get him back. But the angels have a new plan for us. They want me to kill my own boyfriend—since I’m the only one who can do it. If we can’t defeat the new onslaught of angels, I face a fate worse than death—and the rest of the world is coming with me.

In a way I wish I’d read this before the Shadow Fae series. I loved the process of self awareness for Ruby. She really is the hero of the series. Death , Adonis turns out to be a lovable character. Kratos also turns out to be lovable. I do wonder about a few things. I’m not sure if the answers about the Shadow Fae taking over London and sending all magical to closed realms appears in other books. This book ends with a well earned HEA. )

I was so involved with this series I think I read them all in 2 weeks or less. This story was very exciting and flowed together very well. Not to mention, magical worlds and magical beings are interesting to read about. )

Rosalind and Caine join Ruby and Adonis to defeat the Heavenly Host. What a great way to bring other characters into this book! I want to re-read Liora’s story, since it’s been a while since I read it. In the end of this book, we meet baby Lions. This really nicely wraps up the stories. I am curious where Tanit and Kur were for this story. Maybe I missed something, but they weren’t in the final battle scenes. I wanted to see them again, since they were supposedly such good friends with Adonis....

I loved this entire series. Both stories, books 1-4, and this one, books 5-7. This is actually my favorite book in the whole series. The dialogue and interaction between Ruby & Adonis had me laughing out loud, which I rarely do. They're both monsters, but that doesn't define who they can become. )
