When Emily, a sensitive synesthete from Claremore, Oklahoma, witnesses a heart-wrenching act of domestic violence that orphans her and her older sister, Emily is haunted by the loss of her kindred spirit. She turns to music for comfort and keeps secret the fact that she has the ability to see other people's auras and sense their true natures. For Emily, a kaleidoscope of color lofts above everyone she meets. She is drawn to the rare, nurturing Purples like her mother and avoids the cruel Grays like her father, the Monster. Without her mother's guidance, Emily must learn to trust her instincts and draw her boundaries on her own as she navigates trough a newly found career in the music business.

I love this book! The characters are so real. I feel like I know them. Their dialogue is so authentic. I even laughed out loud a few times at their conversations. I was hooked from the very first page. I know this might be considered a teen novel but I’m an older reader & still loved it. I can identify with several things that the characters are going through because of things I dealt with in my teen years. It’s a wonderful read with a lot of heart. I did not want to put it down! I highly...

This was a very quick, fun, and endearing read! A beautifully written story which I’m sure many people young and old can relate to. If you are looking for an easy read that draws you in and gives a bit of meaningful, be it fantastical, inspiration, pick Rock Angel up and enjoy! )

I get to serve with the lovely miss Jody every Sunday at our church. I loved this book I felt like I could relate a lot to Emily’s character I don’t see people’s auras. I wish I could that’s cool. I wonder what color I would be? I met someone a few years ago that could and that’s always fascinated me. I loved how even though there was a romantic interest that wasn’t the main theme in the book. Thanks to you Jody I have another book boyfriend his name is Patrick and man how I wish he was real. I...

This book kept me interested and invested cover to cover! It is PERFECT for a young adult audience. This story takes you on an exhilarating journey (I could easily put myself in “Emily’s” shoes), while also confronting several heavy topics in a tactful way (The author has skillfully written about some hard-to-swallow subjects)! Emily has a very unique gift that allows the reader further insight into each character (and frankly has me researching auras, colors, vibrations and the likes)! I tried...
