Matilda's Assignment

Matilda, guardian angel ‘not extraordinaire, failed her last assignment, miserably, and yet she’s been given a ‘free pick’ for her next one. ‘Carte Blanche’ is unheard of as a reward for a failed mission so she has to wonder…is it a test?

Believing it is she decides to find a difficult assignment to resolve, and win some angelic kudos.

Matilda searches the crowd of Christmas shoppers hurrying along the snow covered streets of Fifth Avenue and settles on the emotionally frozen, newly famous, New York fashion designer, Anastasia Elizabeth Collins, or ‘Ana’ as her designer label touts and chooses her for her ‘free pick’ assignment.

Matilda soon realizes redeeming Ana will not be easy and it brings her face to face with her own life’s regrets in the form of the first-class guardian, Charles, who she’ll have to ask for help in order to succeed with her assignment.

Charles was Matilda's one true love in life, but she’d walked away from that love and she has no desire to revisit that past life’s painful memories, or doubts.

Unfortunately, Ana’s one true love is Erick Morgan and, more unfortunate, Charles is Erick's guardian.

Angelic feathers will be ruffled as past and present misunderstandings and love lost disappointments collide.

It will be a veritable, karmic, collision course for both guardians as they try to navigate their chosen assignments away from the same loveless path they’d once taken, and have eternally regretted.
