Invidious

by Bianca Scardoni

About this book

The steep descent into Hell is always paved with good intentions.

My name is Jemma Blackburn, and I'm a Slayer. Finding out I wasn't human was only the beginning of my problems. My best friend, Taylor, is still missing, and so is the Immortal Amulet, and it's my job alone to get them both back. I don't know who I can trust, and I'm still not sure I'm cut out for any of this, but I'm determined to figure it all out, or die trying. As if that wasn't bad enough, there's a new enemy in town and they've come bearing gifts - an ancient prophecy that is going to blur the very lines between good and evil. And, apparently, my blood is tied to the center of it. I don't have all the answers yet, but I'm getting closer and closer to discovering the truth. The truth about my bloodlines, and about who I really am. And, believe me when I say, it's going to change everything.

Invidious is the highly anticipated second installment in The Marked series, a fast-paced paranormal romance filled with self-discovery, mystery, love, and a unique supernatural world that will leave you captivated and hungry for more.

Keep writing, loved it

My sister recommended this book to me, i read the first one in a day and half and second one same. The books are great, yes its a YA novel which you cant expect teenagers or late teenagers to act mature and not much involvement of parents because its not really about them and etc. However, it was very well put together. The first two books seemed to be taking it slow as i assume the author will have many more to finish the series and put together any \"missing information\" in other books....

Superb story, good writing, great character development!

As the second book, in the series, I expected it to be boring and lackluster. But Bianca did NOT disappoint! Reader favorites blur, characters you WANT to hate, become endearing, and tough decisions are made - whether we, as readers, agree with them or not! Can't wait to speed read book 3 to get more answers, but probably more questions! ) One person found this helpful

Just as good as the first book.

I started this book yesterday and finished it today. Every moment left me wondering what would happen next, every chapter ending made me want to continue on to the next chapter. So many secrets and truths are told and the story continues to get better and better. Usually the second book is hard to get through and usually it's not as good as the first. Well, I do have to say it is just as good as the first, maybe even better. I am excited to continue on with the story especially since this book...

Couldn’t put these books down!

I finished all five books in this series in a week. I was so wrapped up in the story it was all I could think about. It reminds me of a mix of twilight, vampire diaries, and the chilling adventures of Sabrina (Netflix version). My only complaint is that the books are riddled with grammatical and spelling errors. There are at least 2 typos in nearly every chapter which makes me wonder if there is an editor involved in the publishing of these books. I hope there is a way they can be fixed bc it...

I found Invidious to be entertaining, I like Trace and Dominic is becoming more interesting and saw some growth. We got to learn a little more about whom and what Jemma is and we saw the story move forward. We did end on another cliff hanger that was a bit on the bad side. In this book it really is Trace that made the story enjoyable, he really carries things and makes me want to know what is going to happen. Trace is probably the most mature and down to earth person in the story, this is...
