And So The Breaking Begins: Mindbreaker Duet, Book 1 (An Age of War and Prophecy 3)

by Frankie Robertson
A Celestial Guardian sworn to protect. A woman desperate to find her sister. A forbidden love that could cost them everything.
For millennia, Gideon has defended humanity from the shadows. But when a psychic woman vanishes under mysterious, magical circumstances, he’s ordered to stay out of it. Guardians aren’t meant to interfere directly with mortal lives—or fall in love.
Ana Lewis will do anything to save her sister, even if it means hiring a security expert who seems to know far more than he should. Gideon’s calm strength and piercing gaze unsettle her, stirring feelings she doesn’t have time to face. But when dark forces close in, Ana realizes her enigmatic protector may be the only person who can stand between her and a nightmare she can’t fight alone.
As the search uncovers a sinister conspiracy, Gideon must make an impossible choice: obey his Celestial orders or protect the woman he’s come to love.
Guardian, Book Two in the Celestial Affairs series, is a spellbinding paranormal romantic suspense where angels walk the shadows, witches hold forbidden power, and love defies destiny. Perfect for fans of Nalini Singh, Deborah Harkness, and Christine Feehan.

Frankie Robertson is one of the authors I follow, so I always jump on new releases. Guardian is a great successor to the first Celestial Affairs book, Lightbringer. Ana's sister, Tasha, is kidnapped because she has untrained supernatural ability that could be turned to evil. Celestial Guardian Gideon teams up with Jared & Cassie (from book 1) to help Ana get her back. Gideon and Ana have great chemistry together, and the adventure includes lots of characters I learned to love in book one. ) One...

Guardian, the second book in Frankie Robertson’s Celestial Affairs series, was everything I expected it to be and more. For me, Guardian was a ‘sneak away’ book, a story so engrossing that I kept pulling my Kindle out to read just one more chapter when I was meant to be doing something else. The main character’s anguish when her sister is kidnapped was palpable. While the story very much belongs to Gideon and Ana, it was nice to see Jared and Cassie from Lightbringer back as part of the action....

I liked the new book in the Celestial Affairs series. Gideon is a true Guardian, and his conflict between his orders and what he feels is right makes for a good story. You can count on Frankie to deliver. ) One person found this helpful
