If you want a story that connects to your mind and soul this is it. It is raw dirty and completely insane. I rarely experience awesomeness like this. TW in this book for SA, DV, and shame spirals. The SA and DV aren’t described too vividly and I was not triggered by them personally but just be aware! The shame spirals are more consistent and intense imo. Got distracted by sentences with the wrong words or missing words a couple times. Like “endemic” instead of “pandemic”. This is an amazing book, and I would definitely read it again and recommend to others. I love the uniqueness of this book. These weren't your normal vampires that I honestly get tired of reading about. They were unique, and strong, and they had weaknesses. Janie Marie was realistic when she wrote about her monsters. Death was something else entirely. He wasn't some sappy lover like other people might portray him when he's with Jane. He's still the monster that he wants to be viewed as. I love...

I really had trouble liking the main character. I understand she has a lot of trauma but I could not stand the self pity and tears for 80% of the book. The side characters were fun and got me through. But muscles and whipped men can only do so much. The interplay of different dieties and paranormal creatures was cool though.
