And So The Breaking Begins: Mindbreaker Duet, Book 1 (An Age of War and Prophecy 3)

Fate always has a plan. Even if you don’t agree with it.
Ezekiel: Starting that online game was my attempt to find happiness. Something to fill my life other than the demands of Heaven and the rest of my unit. I didn’t expect to find Sam.
Even with screens between us, Sam makes me feel more alive than I have in millennia. I find myself counting down the minutes until I can go online and be with him.
He’s my perfect match. In any other circumstances, I’d be doing whatever it took to make him mine.
But I’m not human. And, unlike humans, I have no say over who I spend eternity with. Fate decides who my mate will be, whether it’s the person I love or not.
Sam lives in the same city as me. If he were my mate, I’d have met him by now. I’d feel a pull towards him that I couldn’t ignore.
The right thing to do would be to end this. To put up walls between us to keep both our hearts safe. Instead, I find myself tearing down the barriers, falling faster for him every day.
I know how this story will end, but I can’t stop myself. I don’t care what plans fate has for me. I want to make Sam mine.

This is such an emotional read. Ezekiel and Sam's vulnerability, pain, and angst will just break your heart. Ezekiel, the grumpy member of the unit, was dealing with so much internally. As his layers were slowly revealed, they uncovered not true grumpiness and anger, but someone dealing with so much loneliness and pain. Sam on the other hand, had accepted his loneliness and felt he was not worthy of love because of his OCD. But together, they learned that they are more than their trauma and...

\"He’d seen something in me that no one else ever had. Something worthy of love. Of care. Of affection. I was never letting him go.\" Ezekiel is second in command to Heaven's most powerful unit of angels. When his leader makes him find a hobby outside of work, he signs up for a random video game. Soon, a few texts turns into an all-out obsession with his online partner, Sam. But the uncertainty of whether Sam is his mate keeps him from taking that step into meeting in person. Until outside...

Another great book from LT. Book 2 with our favorite group of Angels. Each one gets better and better. This one follows our favorite grumpy angel Ez and his human mate Sam. For starters I love the supe/human pairings. They'll always be my favorite ! The moment our innocent human realizes exactly who, or what he's falling for is the best. It was so far from what I expected to see Zeke playing a video game and eating gummie candy. 😅 He's got a temper and is 2nd in commanded of this elite group,...

I went into this book a little hesitant, mainly due to Sam’s OCD representation. Mental health, especially something as complex as OCD, is often mishandled in fiction. But I’m happy to say the author did an incredible job portraying Sam with compassion, nuance, and realism. His character never felt reduced to a diagnosis. Instead, he was layered, resilient, and beautifully human. Zeke was also brilliantly written, loyal, thoughtful, and gentle in a way that made me swoon page after page. Their...
