Cursed: A Clean Fantasy Romance of a Fallen Angel Torn Between Her Past and Her Future (Morningstar Academy Book 1)

by L. R. W. Lee

About this book

Can forbidden love survive a celestial war?

Heaven has rules. Gladriel was never very good at following them.

A fierce cherub warrior, Gladriel swore to protect humanity from demons hidden within the modern world and she's spent centuries fighting the Enemy from the shadows.

But when a catastrophic attack reveals a terrifying shift in the war between Heaven and Hell, she finds herself hunted by forces darker than anything she has faced before.

As the danger escalates, so does the undeniable pull toward her commanding officer, Kessien, a battle-hardened angel whose presence threatens the walls she’s spent lifetimes building. Duty and longing collide as forbidden feelings ignite in the middle of a celestial war that could change everything.

Blending epic fantasy, angelic lore, supernatural warfare, and slow-burn romance, Cursed delivers a gripping adventure filled with immortal warriors, hidden demons, and high-stakes emotion. Fans of fantasy academy romance and emotionally charged epic fantasy will be swept into a richly imagined world where loyalty is tested, love is dangerous, and even Heaven’s warriors can fall.

Blessed to have read Cursed!

September 10, 2023

In this thought-provoking escape into a world of angels, demons, and the fallen that hadn’t intended on dropping out of the third heaven, readers are faced with an interesting twist on a celestial trope. Gladriel, a heavenly warrior, exacts revenge when demons mutilate her best friend. In the process of taking things into her own hands, Glad loses the privilege of remaining a citizen of the celestial city and is banished to second heaven. There, she is placed at Morningstar Academy to train for...

Good start to a YA series

July 31, 2024

This was a nice read. It is a little slow in my opinion but that’s just my opinion. I do like the little bit of character development in this book and I am excited to see the progression of Gald’s character in book 2. I was hoping to see more sustenance in this book and thought it lacked a few details.. but it is a series so I’m sure there is more later on but it kinda fell short on providing a lot of information in this book. I have high hopes that the next book will contain more info and am...

✨Stunning Cover, Stunning Hook✨ From the moment I picked up Cursed by LRW Lee, I was captivated—not just by its breathtaking cover art (seriously, it deserves a frame), but by the fast-paced, addictive storytelling inside. This is one of those books you fly through in a single sitting, only to be left gaping at the last page, desperate for the next installment. Lee crafts a world that’s easy to fall into and hard to leave. With relatable characters, sharp dialogue, and a plot that keeps you on...

A Great YA Fantasy Read, Touching on Some Heavy Good vs. Evil Moments.

August 28, 2025

Honest review is 4.5 stars. Thank you to the author, LRW Lee, for a digital copy of this series started. The story is told primarily through the POV of our FMC, Gladriel, with a few chapters thrown in from the POV of Kessien, possibly our MMC. This is a YA series and as such, there was no spice throughout the book. As we have demons and Fallen angels, we do get some mid-level graphic scenes of death and possession. This was an amazing start to the series. About halfway through, I was going...
