Warmer, Colder: Haunted Hearts

by Alexia Onyx

About this book

In this seductive sapphic ghost dark romance, the homoerotic yearning of Jennifer's Body meets the possessive witchiness of The Craft, all wrapped in the sharp commentary on girlhood from Mean Girls and the suspense of Pretty Little Liars.

There's nothing more dangerous than the truth, except the pretty little lies we tell ourselves.

Stasi

Becca Murphy was always meant to be mine. She betrayed me and buried her love for me deep within her deceptive heart, but she never anticipated me digging myself out of that grave with a singular desire: her. Now that I'm back, I'm determined to drag her demons into the light. I might be dead, but I'm not letting Becca go. This time, she'll see the truth: it's always been me.

Becca

One drunken night shattered my carefully crafted facade, leaving me suffocating beneath the wreckage of my so-called perfect life. I thought death would grant me peace, but instead, I'm haunted by the woman who knows my deepest secret. As I cling to the crumbling illusion of perfection, Stasi sees me for what I truly am—a goddamn mess. Do I cling to my web of lies, or do I dare to free fall into her tempting embrace?

Contains mature themes.

MY FAV BOOK OF THIS YEAR!!!

December 9, 2024

I am genuinely not joking when I say this is my top book of 2024, and considering this was my 170th book of the year says something 🔥🔥🔥 I'm obsessed like Stasi, hehe 😉 okay, anyways, this book was perfect in every single way. If you're like me and love all the emotions, this book is for you! It was hauntingly and devastatingly beautiful. Both our FMC's had so much depth to them. Trauma, grief, you name it. And to find a book that can illicit so many emotions in such a raw way was amazing...

Ohh Stasi

The plot, my lanta the plot was so good. I loved reading this book, had me sucked in from the start. The trauma that Becca had was so raw and how she was dealing with it, or lack there of was conveyed so well. I hurt for her throughout the book. Her internalized homophobia was a whole other level. Seeing her learn to understand herself was heart wrenching. Stasi, well I wanted to love her at all costs. But there were so many times where I said “wtf stasi”. Overall I still really enjoyed her...

Mixed Emotions

What even was that?! I both liked and disliked it…hate is a strong word. I have a lot of mixed feelings that can’t be contained, but I will try. I love a dark sapphic romance as much as the next person and the paranormal aspect pulled me in, but here we go. I deeply sympathized with Stasi, and they were both just such complex characters. I wanted to both hug Stasi and keep my distance at the same time. I was just in tears and so frustrated over it. And Becca? I also sympathized with her and...

glorious graveyard of red flags 🔥🔥🔥

Dark sapphic romance. Bully. Stalker. Second chance. Paranormal. Love after death. So many trigger warnings. A whole bunch of kink. You wouldn’t think it would all work, but Onyx does a masterful job at making this story cohesive and thought provoking. If you loved books like Everything Crumbles, Blood Beneath Ice, Hush or Vibe, then this book is definitely right up your alley! I know lighthearted sapphic novels are all the rage, but give me a deeply gouging, wholly unhinged romance any day of...
