I got this book from KU, so was willing to take a chance on a new-to-me author. I found the book thoroughly enjoyable! It’s the story of Zo and Rex, a witch and a demon, so essentially enemies to lovers. Zo finds herself with an impossible choice: summon a demon and make a bargain, or die, slowly and horrifically. Going in to this book I didn’t think the demons were going to be of the monster variety but I was pleasantly surprised. I loved the storyline and let’s give a round of applause for Rex and his many appendages. 🫣 The FMC was great. She had her moments when she would annoy me but overall she was great. My only complaint is wishing the author went more into the story. At one point Zo had a memory of something her mom said that related to where Rex is from but that was wholly skipped over. I really enjoyed this book. I liked the characters and the plot was entertaining. I do wish we got to see more of their life after everything happened in the end. The smut was good, could have even had more but loved it. Wish they did explain that mates are like animal mates where it is simply the person they are with and are chosen. I truly have been looking for a good pnr (paranormal romance) and finally found one in this book. I love how fierce zoella is and how protective Rex is towards her. It opens your eyes to see how other creatures can be different but yet have huge hearts. ) One person found this helpful
