Chilling Adventures of Sabrina meets The L Word in this fresh, sizzling New York Times bestselling rom-com by Lana Harper.
Emmy Harlow is a witch but not a very powerful one—in part because she hasn't been home to the magical town of Thistle Grove in years. Her self-imposed exile has a lot to do with a complicated family history and a desire to forge her own way in the world, and only the very tiniest bit to do with Gareth Blackmoore, heir to the most powerful magical family in town and casual breaker of hearts and destroyer of dreams.
But when a spellcasting tournament that her family serves as arbiters for approaches, it turns out the pull of tradition (or the truly impressive parental guilt trip that comes with it) is strong enough to bring Emmy back. She's determined to do her familial duty; spend some quality time with her best friend, Linden Thorn; and get back to her real life in Chicago.
On her first night home, Emmy runs into Talia Avramov—an all-around badass adept in the darker magical arts—who is fresh off a bad breakup . . . with Gareth Blackmoore. Talia had let herself be charmed, only to discover that Gareth was also seeing Linden—unbeknownst to either of them. And now she and Linden want revenge. Only one question stands: Is Emmy in?
But most concerning of all: Why can't she stop thinking about the terrifyingly competent, devastatingly gorgeous, wickedly charming Talia Avramov?

Witchy?✔️ Queer?✔️ Romance?✔️ All my favorite things! Hands down one of my favorite reads last year, I loved it. Such a fun, cozy feel good read. No *extreme* drama or tension, just a perfect sprinkle to keep things interesting, give substance to the plot, and give the characters something to grow from. The idyllic whimsy of Thistle Grove is spun like the loveliest daydream that makes me want to immediately pack up and move there and never leave. Emmy’s love, even if initially reluctant, for...

Things heat up between Emmy and Talia, but how can they keep their budding relationship alive when Emmy wants to leave Thistle Grove and go back to...

Spoilers & Thoughts Below!! •Payback’s a Witch was an interesting sapphic romance book about three witches teaming up together for revenge. •This was a good read as there were moments I did enjoy however, the overall story was very slow-paced. •The small town feel and witchy element in this book was really nice. However, I would have liked just a bit more background and history on the town. •The plot itself while entertaining was a bit dull at times and the writing just didn’t really seem to...

Good book. Couldn't put it down! I'm not usually into the witchy stuff or the spicy stuff, but this book was well written and really kept me engaged throughout. I ended up finishing it in two days, partly because I was reading it with a friend and wanted to finish first, but also because I just needed to know what happened next at the end of every chapter. Looking forward to reading the other books in this series! ) One person found this helpful
