Zodiac Academy 8

by Caroline Peckham

About this book

All stars must fall.

Bloody, lost, broken. We live to fight another day. But with so much stolen from us, can the fates ever twist in our favour again?

My sister and I have been torn apart by shadows and despair, and now we each stand alone.

Our sorrow is spun like a web, trapping us tight, and I fear our enemies will soon come to feast upon our souls.

But if I have my way, the merciless sky will have dealt us its final fortune. It’s time for us to take back the power that’s been ripped from our grasp and turn the tide of this war.

All stars must fall, and all Phoenixes must rise.

Long live the Savage Queens.

This will now be book 8 of 9 in the series.

This is a dark, bully romance–don’t go expecting a sweet school for magic with friends around every corner. Fae fight for everything they own and Zodiac Academy is a cutthroat school for students aged 18+ where only the strongest prevail. There’s no Dumbledore here to save anyone’s ass and Lionel Acrux will give Voldemort a run for his money in the evil dictator category. So hold onto your stardust (broomsticks not required) and get ready for a bumpy ride.

A Triumph in the series!

January 9, 2023

I don't know how to create words right now. I feel so many things...I feel SO happy and also REALLY scared. I feel irritated but also fulfilled. I feel like we came so far but also didn't go anywhere. I'm thoroughly enamored with this series, these characters and this world. This book is the kind of read where you specifically take your time and read slow so that it doesn't end. You know its a good story if you're doing that to keep these people around for as long as possible. A triumph in the...

Emotional, character-driven storytelling

December 31, 2022

This book was both exactly & nothing like I expected. I figured it would be emotionally heavy & would take the main cast of characters to new lows, but never expected how thoroughly grief would be explored. The theme was smartly, devastatingly, effectively managed through the (many) character POVs offered by the sister writing duo as they showed the different ways people cope with grief and trauma, from the graceful acceptance to ragged guilt and rage-induced toxicity to attempts at normality...

Phenomenal Series

October 4, 2024

Zodiac Academy Sorrow and Starlight is the eight book in the Beasts and Bullies series by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti. I really enjoyed this book, in fact, I binge read it in one day. ZA7 left us with quite the cliffhanger. I really enjoyed ZA8 and can appreciate the pacing and build up to arc resolution. I think that the Twisted Sisters concluded several of the prophecies brilliantly and in ways that I did not anticipate. I adore the characters in the Zodiac Academy series and enjoyed...

My Least Favorite Book in the Series

January 1, 2026

Trigger Warning : torture, death, violence//war violence, confinement, sexual assault, grief, abuse, hate crimes, self harm, suicidal thoughts, bullying, classism, toxic relationship, animal cruelty, abandonment, gaslighting, misogyny This is the first book in the series that was hard for me to get through. I enjoy the multiple POVs, but this was pushing me to my limit. Some of the points of view really take you out of the main story lines, and don’t add anything to the overall plot. That...

Grief is Front & Center - But It Pays Off

April 21, 2025

This has been a journey reading and listening to this series. I was not prepared for the rollercoaster this story has been taking me on since I started this series a month ago. But here I am, clinging onto hope and praying to the stars that Lionel gets the vicious ending he has earned. I feel so connected to these characters, that I simply cannot get enough of them. I highly recommend reading this book in tandem with Zodiac Academy book 8.5 Beyond the Veil. It gave me a little more reassurance...
