All's Fair in Love and Blood

Damali Richards lives a double life that pulses with the rhythm of the city. By day, she is a magnetic spoken word artist signed to Warriors of Light Records, using her voice to captivate crowds. By night, she transforms into a lethal vampire huntress, leading a team of Guardians against the ancient, predatory evils that hide in the shadows of the urban landscape. When a series of gruesome, ritualistic mutilations begins targeting the music industry, Damali realizes she is facing a threat far more volatile than the typical undead.
This gripping urban fantasy kicks off a twelve-book saga, blending high-stakes action with a heavy dose of dark romance. As Damali tracks a powerful, seductive vampire lord who has set his sights on her, the line between hunter and prey begins to blur. The chemistry is as dangerous as the combat, pulling her into a world where desire and destruction are inextricably linked.
If you are looking for a paranormal series that balances grit, supernatural mythology, and intense, brooding passion, this is your next obsession. Damali’s journey is a visceral, high-octane ride that proves some legends are born in blood and kept alive by the strength of a single, fearless woman.

I was introduced to this series on Christmas 2009. I began reading the special edition of Minion in May 2010. I bought this copy in 2020 and began reading it in November or December 2022. This was long overdue. For years now, I’ve read comments from people asking if Minion gets better, or referring to it as janky. I wasn’t sure what they meant, as it always seemed pretty solid to me. The version I was reading was the Special Huntress Edition. The SHE adds a couple of scenes and changes some...

Damili, which means beautiful vision, is the perfect name for the young, just coming of age, Damili Richards. Damili, a spoken word artist as far as the world knows, it really a vampire huntress who lost both of her parents to vampires when she was a baby. On the brink of her 21st birthday, Damili is confused about several things. She has certain powers that have proven to help keep her safe from the time she was little, only now, for some reason, they are fading in and out. Like bad reception....

An original vampire tale told from an ethnic perspective. This is the story of Damali, who is not just a vampire huntress but a Neteru, the likes of which has not been seen by the underworld in thousands of years. Surrounded by her team of guardians--most specifically seer Marlene who is sort of a surrogate mother--Damali's daily life is filled with fighting vampires. But something is different as of late; Damali and her team have encountered a sort of vampire hybrid...and it would seem as...

I loved the book. I'm a big fan of African American authors. I typically read Keith Lee Johnson, Eric Jerome Dickey, Omar Tyree, and of course, Zane. I've been picking up L.A. Banks novels for the past 5 years and just didn't purchase one. However, a few weeks ago, I decided to pick up Minion. When I finally got around to reading it, I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I can agree with some of the reviewers that the dialect is thick, however, if your accustomed to reading...
