For centuries, Sahvage has lived in the shadows, an MMA-fighting enigma determined to keep his past buried and his existence a secret. As a powerful, brooding alpha hero, he has perfected the art of staying invisible, but his carefully constructed life shatters the moment he crosses paths with Mae. A mortal woman pushed to the brink of desperation, Mae is hunting for a way to reverse a devastating tragedy, unaware that her quest has unleashed an ancient, malevolent force upon the world.
This latest installment in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series masterfully weaves urban fantasy with high-stakes paranormal romance. As Sahvage and Mae are forced into an uneasy alliance, the tension between them crackles, evolving into a forbidden connection that defies the laws of their separate worlds. Their journey is a classic enemies-to-lovers dance set against the visceral, gritty backdrop of Caldwell, where the stakes are life and death.
Fans of the long-running saga will find themselves hooked by the intricate world-building and the emotional depth of this found-family narrative. With breathtaking twists and a relentless pace, this story breathes fresh energy into the series, proving exactly why J.R. Ward remains a titan of the genre.

Lover Unveiled was so exciting and entertaining to read. I loved the characters, details, and phenomenal build. I felt like this story was a game changer and I can't wait to find out what comes next in the series. I loved learning Sahvage’s history and how all those details developed and the timing of them, keeping me guessing. I loved Mae’s determination, as misguided as it was at times. I love how she didn't stand down from Sahvage and how she could be a bit challenging. He was this tough...

I believe this is book 19 in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series and I felt that the relationship between Sahvage and Mae was made more of a focus than in previous additions to the BDB universe. The books of the core characters that are at the foundation of the series (Wrath, Vishous, Butch, Zsadist, Phury, Rhage, Tohrment) really focused on their character development and the romance with their chosen mates. Ward built a world full of males that are all Alphas and about love that would last...

The writing is so sharp; the references so funny (if you don't get them, I'm so sorry - they're a hoot); the personalities so well-developed, and the connections so strong. No one else has such fantastic workings of the mind as J.R. Ward. She's at the top of the game, in a superlative field of her own. I loved this latest book. It's like the best desert I've ever had and leaves me wanting more, more, more. I'm so impressed with the way storylines from the Brotherhood world flow so seamlessly....

Around chapter 6 it gets interesting. The book is well and funny written, but considering that there are a lot of characters and narratives, as well as the plots occur in parallel, this is sometimes annoying. It is also very often that events break off on a cliffhanger and, in order to find out what will happen next, you need to read another character. The sex scenes are hot, but the very last and final scene is meh and quite short. and then the finale comes almost immediately. Half of the...
