Lover at Last: A Novel of the Black Dagger Brotherhood

by J.R. Ward

About this book

“The hottest collection of studs in romance” (New York Times Bestselling Author Angela Knight) returns as J. R. Ward brings together two of the most beloved people in the Black Dagger Brotherhood world—at last....

Qhuinn, son of no one, is used to being on his own. Disavowed from his bloodline, shunned by the aristocracy, he has found an identity as a brutal fighter in the war against the Lessening Society. But his life is not complete. Even as the prospect of having a family of his own seems within reach, he is empty on the inside, his heart given to another....

Blay, after years of unrequited love, has moved on from his feelings for Qhuinn. And it’s about time: it seems Qhuinn has found his perfect match in a Chosen female, and they are going to have a young. It’s hard for Blay to see the new couple together, but building your life around a pipe dream is just a heartbreak waiting to happen. And Qhuinn needs to come to terms with some dark things before he can move forward…

Fate seems to have taken these vampire soldiers in different directions, but as the battle over the race’s throne intensifies, and new players on the scene in Caldwell create mortal danger for the Brotherhood, Qhuinn learns the true meaning of courage, and two hearts meant to be together finally become one.

Loving, if a bit much

Lover At Last: A Black Dagger Brotherhood Novel By J. R. Ward Oh, this book was a long time coming and very much anticipated by this reader. Qhuinn and Blaylock have gone through so much together since they were children and especially in the years since the series started. Their story demanded to be told by the very circumstance of the story line. And it didn't disappoint. Let me say I did enjoy the book, it was full of Ms. Ward's dark humor and the Brother's heavy sarcasm and fun filled...

Qhuinn and Blay finally happy!

4.5 Stars Warning! This review does contain spoilers for earlier books in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I feel like I have been waiting for this story for ages! Ever since I read Qhuinn and Blay's first kiss in Lover Enshrined, I have been hankering for them to get their HEA. These two vampire warriors put all of us BDB fans through a ton of angst over the whole \"will-they or won't they\" storyline. But, as with many highly anticipated books, I was a little nervous about my reaction to...

Stole Away With My Heart

I am not a huge JR Ward fangirl who thinks she can do nothing wrong but I have to state that I am still in love with the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. \"Lover At Last\" left me a complete emotional mess. I have always been a fan of the multiple plotlines Ward uses in this series. I have always enjoyed the well written love stories but what captivated me above everything else were the characters that seemed like I could reach into the pages and touch them. They were flawed and for vampires,...
