Cassie Rutherford moved to Boneyard Key to escape the pressures of her life in Orlando, but she never expected her charming new historic cottage to include a literal haunting. As the fridge magnets rearrange themselves into ominous warnings and her electronics fail, Cassie finds herself relying on the only person who understands the town’s spectral secrets: Nick Royer.
Nick is the quintessential grumpy coffee shop owner, a man who has made peace with the ghosts of Boneyard Key and keeps his distance from everyone else. Yet, he finds his resolve crumbling every time the sunshine-filled, inquisitive Cassie walks through his door. Forced into proximity as they team up to investigate the mysterious history of her home, their chemistry begins to burn brighter than a flickering séance candle.
This paranormal romance is the perfect pick for readers craving a blend of cozy small-town charm and spooky thrills. With its delightful grumpy-sunshine dynamic and a slow-burn romance that simmers with just the right amount of spice, the story captures the magic of a supernatural autumn. If you are looking for a lighthearted, hauntingly sweet escape that celebrates the weird and wonderful, this enchanting read is guaranteed to cast a spell on you.

Oh this is a cute and fun read. I really enjoyed the slow-burn grumpy x sunshine vibes and oh the ghosts - I loved that far more than I thought I would! The spice was fun, the romance in general was really well done and enjoyable, and the death puns? Well, those were my all out favorite! This is a great one to have on your shelf for spooky season (which I am beyond ready for). )

I thought this would be a good book to listen to during the month of October and this is my first book I’ve read by Jen DeLuca. The story is about FMC Cassie who moves from Orlando, FL to Boneyard Key where she’s bought a house to make a new start on life. As she begins to explore her new town she learns that the town is said to be haunted by ghosts. This is where we meet our MMC Nick, the owner of Hallowed Grounds Coffee Shop and Cafe as Cassie not being able to charge her laptop ventures out...

Such a fun story! This was a perfect book to read to wrap up October. The ghosts all had such fun personalities (well, excluding one iykyk). I loved the progression of the story and how there was a little bit a mystery solving involved. )
