Bound and Unbound: A paranormal novella duology

by Marie Johnston
She betrayed her kind and was exiled from her realm. When Sierra is dumped in a snowy forest before an impending blizzard, that should be the end of the newly fallen angel.
Boone wanted isolation. He wanted peace. He wanted to be left the hell alone. But a last-minute trip before he’s stormed in for days turns up more than spare wood and a rabbit in his snare. He finds an unconscious and bloody woman.
Sierra’s realm might have erased her existence, but that doesn’t mean she’s been forgotten by those who want to use her for their own means. Demons have found her, and sticking around puts Boone at risk, the one man who makes her think she might deserve more than shame.
Boone’s not going to let his fallen angel go. But going on the run with Sierra means discovering a terrifying new world, one with monsters who aren’t much different than the ones who killed his family. He barely survived then. Will this time end up killing them both?

Really enjoyed the book and the plot. It made me cry in some places. The words were written in such a way that it all felt believable. I look forward to the next book. )

This series should be read in order. I read book two a while ago so it took some time to remember what was going on. The back story continues and you need to know it in order to understand what's going on. Angels, demons and the fallen are all wandering the earth and interacting with humans. There is some romance and an HEA but the focus is more on the conflict between angels and demons and trying to keep humans safe. )

I absolutely loved Sierra and Boone. Their characters were outstanding with amazing growth and development. The storyline was intriguing and the plotline stuck with the original story series. I can't wait for the next book! )

I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about this book, having read the last two and experienced what Sierra’s betrayal had caused to happen to a magnificent angel warrior. I knew she had her secrets, I even thought I had a pretty good idea of what had caused her to be blackmailed in the first place. But, as usual, Marie Johnston managed to drop a whammy of a secret that even I hadn’t seen coming. Needless to say the surprises keep on coming during this latest installment of the series. Then...

4.5 Stars This book answered so many questions about Sierra and other characters. It also shed some lie on what demons and Fallen can do. The eyes of the warrior team have been opened, now the senate needs to change their way of thinking. Boone was a sweet, patient and strong man. He was the right man to find Sierra. His past helped, when it was crucial. Sierra was so much more than the tech behind the warriors. Despite being Fallen, she still had the same dedication to helping humans and her...
