All's Fair in Love and Blood

by Charlaine Harris
Vampire politics have always been lethal, but in the twelfth installment of this iconic urban fantasy series, the stakes hit closer to home than ever before. Sookie Stackhouse is no stranger to the supernatural, yet nothing prepares her for the sight of her lover, Eric Northman, feeding on a stranger. When that same woman turns up dead on Eric’s front lawn, the political tension in Bon Temps reaches a breaking point. With the Vampire King of Louisiana looming over them, Sookie must navigate a treacherous web of blood-bonds and shifting loyalties to clear Eric’s name.
Teaming up with her former flame, Bill Compton, Sookie is thrust into an investigation where the rules of the vampire courts are as rigid as they are unforgiving. What begins as a simple murder mystery quickly spirals into a calculated strike against her own life. As she digs deeper, it becomes clear that someone is orchestrating her downfall, testing the boundaries of her telepathic gifts and her resilience.
For fans of the enemies-to-lovers trope and high-stakes paranormal romance, this entry delivers the perfect blend of suspense and heartache. It is a fast-paced, addictive read that proves why Sookie remains a staple of the genre.

Ive never written a review before, and its scary the thought of writing one here on Amazon, but before reading this novel and deciding whether or not to continue with the series, I read another review... the first review on here actually entitled \"Short on Story\". It was a very well written review, but very negative towards the novel actually encouraging me to not purchase the ebook especially at the price!! $16 for an ebook!!! But boredom on a holiday saw me relenting and I bought it. And I...

Like most fans, I own all other 11 books (& all the True Blood dvds) and the last book was the first I was very disappointed with. It had lost me a little.. But I believed in the author so I pre-ordered Deadlocked and finished it w/in 2 days! I know there are a lot of people on here complaining about the way the story is going but putting that aside this book had that original, magical Charlaine flavor to me! I thought all the character's were true to their personalities and the plots were all...

First I'm stating my opinion and my opinion alone. From viewing the reviews posted here, I am in the minority that thought this book was actually quite decent (albeit VERY short! took me 1.5 days to read. too short Ms. Harris!) and a vast improvement from the last say 2-3 books. The last book that got me truly excited was the book where she was attacked by the fae (I think this was book 9 or 10?). I do think that you have to come to every book clear of expectation otherwise you will be...

Review by Cassandra from Book Talk Sookie Stackhouse is determined to solve a murder investigation. A young girl has died at a vampire party hosted at her boyfriend, Eric's, house and he is the main suspect. Eric pleas his innocence but the police do not believe him, and Sookie has a hard time believing him too. Especially since she caught him drinking the woman's blood not too long before she was killed. Strange things are going on with this case. Sookie was asked to show up to the party late,...

At some point, things HAVE to start looking up for this girl! Lucky for her, there is only one book left in this series. At least she'll have some closure soon, right? ;) I'm going to introduce the basic plot, so consider this a warning for minor spoilers. But don't worry, I absolutely will NOT ruin the ending or any important goodies for you. \"Deadlocked\" tackles several story lines and does actually wrap up a few things that shouldn't have to be covered in the final book. It picks up...
