by Christine Feehan
For centuries, Sandu Berdardi has stood as a stoic guardian of the Carpathian people, his existence defined by honor and the crushing weight of isolation. As an ancient vampire struggling to anchor his sanity in a rapidly changing world, he has all but abandoned the hope of finding his lifemate. Yet, destiny is a persistent force, and a mysterious voice from the shadows is about to shatter his solitude, pulling him into a vibrant, dangerous new reality.
Enter Adalasia, a powerful seer who navigates the threads of fate through the mystical art of tarot. When she reaches out to Sandu, the connection is instantaneous and profound, weaving their souls together in a way neither expected. However, her gift of prophecy is a double-edged sword; while she can glimpse the shape of things to come, the path ahead remains shrouded in peril. Together, they must decipher the cryptic warnings hidden within the cards to survive the encroaching darkness.
This installment in the legendary Carpathian series masterfully blends urban fantasy with the timeless intensity of a historical paranormal romance. It is a seductive journey of discovery where love serves as the ultimate weapon against an uncertain future. For those craving high-stakes passion, ancient lore, and an intoxicating atmosphere, this is the perfect addition to your supernatural bookshelf.

Wow! Once again Christine Feehan amazes me! What an fantastic read! I don’t know how she manages to have a story flow so beautifully and have it so full of information. This is book 35 of the Dark series and she’s magically breathed new life into it. Old threads are revisited, like mini stories throughout, and new dangers and antagonists introduced. The transition is smooth and still whispers of connection to old villains, leaving the door open to danger possible from all directions down the...

The excitement still lingers even though I am finished with the book, I have never been so excited to looking forward to the next book to see if it’s one of the ancients we were introduced to and really got to know in this book. Sandu and Adalasia are so perfect. And so was this book. If you are a fan of Christine Feehan and have been reading the dark series, this book will have more meaning to it. Remember Dark Celebration?, the reunion book that brought a lot of characters together. Yes this...

I stumbled upon this book a little over a year ago in a thrift store. After reading it, I wanted more. Since then, I have read every book in the series up to this (#35). I came back to read it again with all the wonderful story lines that led up to it. The romance in these books is white hot and the story line is ever evolving. I would recommend these books to anyone interested in a good romance with a darkback story. )

I did like this latest addition to the Carpathian series. The thing is that the more books in this series, the more that I realise there may never be an ending to the series. Specifically with this book, CF introduces a whole brand new category of antagonists (demons) and sets things up for at minimum, 4-5 more books in this story arc with the other guardians of the gate, Gaia the one who speaks to Justice and Justice- the “beast” who’s locked up. The premise of this book is that Carpathian...
