MacKayla Lane’s life in Dublin has shifted from ordinary to lethal as she navigates a treacherous landscape where the veil between the human world and the dark Fae realm is rapidly dissolving. Tasked with hunting down the Sinsar Dubh, a relic of ancient, devastating magic, Mac finds that survival requires more than just courage; it demands a total surrender to a world of shadows and sorcery.
This gripping paranormal romance masterfully blends historical undertones with high-stakes urban fantasy. As Mac fights to close the gates before the Fae overrun humanity, she becomes entangled in a dangerous game of attraction. Torn between the seductive, insatiable Fae prince V’lane and the enigmatic, brooding Jericho Barrons, Mac must decide who to trust when every ally has a hidden agenda. The tension is palpable, blurring the lines between desire and survival in a city where nothing is as it seems.
For readers seeking a series defined by intense character growth and irresistible romantic tropes, this installment is an absolute must-read. Mac’s transformation from a lost girl into a resilient warrior is as compelling as the dark, atmospheric world she inhabits. Prepare to be hooked by an addictive blend of suspense, mystery, and supernatural allure that keeps you turning pages late into the night.

5 Stars! Question: When you're one of the few people who can do something to fix a problem, just how responsible does that make you for it? Answer: It's how you choose to answer that question that defines you. I really can't understand why I only gave this book 4 stars the last time that I read it. Basically, I think that any book that I feel compelled to read not once, not twice but 3 times (so far) has to deserve 5 stars...it just has to be that way. I first came across this book at a yard...

Bloodfever by Karen Marie Moning is yet another outstanding installment in the MacKayla Lane Novels! I really enjoyed the first one, Darkfever, and Bloodfever was just as good to me. I can really get into these novels and lose myself for a few hours. I love the characters and the whole Fae world that comes with reading these novels - I am definitely addicted to this series. Bloodfever finds Mac still on the search for the infamous book - the Sinsar Dub. She now knows who murdered her sister and...

“I’m asking the questions tonight.” One day I was going to write a book: How to Dictate to a Dictator and Evade an Evader, subtitled How to Handle Jericho Barrons. The Good Poor Mac. Who can this girl trust? She's got Barrons on one side asking her to look at his actions vs. his words because he won't answer any of her questions unless they deal specifically with the book they are tracking. She's got V'Lane on the other side who is Fae and by that alone can't be trusted. Then she has Rowena,...

4.5 Stars! Because I couldn’t possibly write a review for each of these books individually, this is a review of the original Fever series (books 1 through 5). Not only would it be too difficult to review them on an individual basis, but it just wasn’t going to happen because I couldn’t stop long enough between books to even be bothered to write a review. I devoured these books. This is so not my cup of tea. I’m a traditional girl. I like believability, relatability, and normalcy. I like...

If you're looking for a fun urban fantasy with a pace that will keep you turning pages you should probably enjoy this in a frothy but forgettable way. The first book leaves MacKayla mourning the murder of her sister and pledging to avenge her death even though doing so means she must defeat an impossibly powerful creature. This book, the second in the series, ends in pretty much exactly the same place. Sure there are lots of random adventures, a few run ins with attractive men (note: every...
