He is not a vampire, yet he is cursed with an insatiable craving for blood. Aaron Parker has spent his life running from a violent past and a condition he cannot explain. Living as a ghost in the system, he adopts the moniker Fang, drifting through the shadows while struggling to keep his sanity intact. His only solace is a digital sanctuary—an AOL chatroom for vampire enthusiasts—where he crosses paths with an enigmatic stranger who seems to mirror his own hidden darkness.
This gripping prequel to the iconic Vampire for Hire series peels back the layers of a fan-favorite character, offering a dark and intimate origin story. It is a masterclass in urban fantasy that expertly blends gritty suspense with the undeniable sparks of a burgeoning paranormal romance. For those who love the trope of tortured souls finding one another in the dark, this novella provides the essential missing pieces to the legend of Fang.
When destiny finally brings Fang and the mysterious Samantha Moon face-to-face in a dive bar, the magnetic pull is instantaneous and dangerous. This is more than just a setup for a series; it is a haunting, atmospheric exploration of identity and connection. If you are seeking a fast-paced, supernatural read that balances mystery with emotional depth, this is the perfect starting point for your next obsession.

Anyone who has read the Vampire for Hire books knows Samantha Moon - mom, private investigator, vampire. There is a character called Fang that Sam talks to in an AOL chat room themed for vampire lore. Little does Samantha know that Fang950 was born with extra long canines and actually killed someone. She also doesn’t know that he has been stalking her. This is probably only cool if you’re familiar with the series, but I thought this novella was a nice addition to the Vampire for Hire series....

I always liked Fang, but never clearly understood how he became to be. I enjoyed it immensely, though I thought it might be boring. Nothing of the kind. I've read all the other Vampire for Hire books, so far, and Fang's background, subsequent trial, escape, etc., kept me reading. ) One person found this helpful
