Author's Note: For the ones who prefer their love stories dark, delicious, and with a little bite. The secret of life is enjoying the passage of time. – James Taylor I may be biased because CJ Primer is one of my favorite authors, but I absolutely loved this one! So this take on vampires is different from the norm. I loved that ❤️ Taylor comes from foster care, with the constant fear of losing what she has. I'm here for a modern vampire romance. I'm here for a good time. This book was certainly worth 5 stars. However.... There are holes and they are still bothering me. At times our MMC falls a little flat. Also - hated the FMC's best friend. Never hated a side character as much as I hated this one. That said... If your here for a *good* time not a good time, you will enjoy this. )

I usually don't go out of my way to pick the vampire story. However, the write-up of bite was very interesting, and I do not regret buying it. Taylor is a young woman with nothing to her name other than her bestie Bex, a new kitten, and a lifetime of trauma. James is the vampire king with a remnant of his humanity lingering in his persona. In a world with vampires and humans, there is a semi-stable exchange, and Taylor finds herself signing her next year over to James to be his living donor...
