As a big fan of Charlaine Harris', I eagerly anticipated book 7 of the Southern Vampire Mysteries. Did it progress the series? yes Did you see the true metal of the characters? yes. Was it a lot of fun? no. This book's actions are more serious than other books. The reader should know that Hurricane Katrina devastated vampire New Orleans as well - and there are actions at the end of book 6 that need to be addressed. In terms of action, book 7 in the Sookie series doesn't disappoint. It revolves around a vamp conference in Rhodes, taking place at a doomed vampire hotel. It's absolutely chock full of adventure and tension. I'm zooming through the series and this one pulled me in. So, Sookie is compelled by the queen, Sophie-Anne, to attend the conference in her entourage, promising Sookie a big payday for her telepathic services. \"All together dead\" is the best Sookie novel so far. The novel's first chapters are lighthearted and comical, dealing with a wedding shower and Sookie's preparations for her travel to Rhodes, where the vampire summit will be held. Little or nothing happens in these chapters, but it's fun to see Sookie's friends and neighbors and the humor keeps the narrative going.
