Bound and Unbound: A paranormal novella duology

by K. A. Tucker
Gifted thief Romeria has flourished from her days as a street kid pilfering wallets to survive. Now she thrives, stealing jewels from the rich under the involuntary employ of New York City's most notorious crime boss. But when an enigmatic woman secures her services at swordpoint, Romeria is plunged into a startling realm of opposing thrones, warring elven, and elemental magic she cannot begin to fathom.
Her quest is straightforward: Steal a stone from Islor's sacred garden without anyone discovering her true identity, which would earn her certain death. But the identity she has inexplicably assumed is that of the captured Ybarisan princess - an enemy to Islor after she poisoned their beloved king and queen on the day she was to marry the prince.
Her betrothed, the newly crowned King Zander, detests her with every grain of his handsome being. Zander gives her a choice: life in a cell or an acquittal of all charges in exchange for her help in exposing the growing plot against him.
Romeria sees no other option and embraces the tricky role of smitten queen-to-be until she can escape. As she digs deeper, she discovers monstrous truths that could spell ruin for all.

The fourth and final installment of Fate & Flame comes out next week so I'm doing a reread to refresh my memory. This is the third (or maybe fourth?) time I've read this book and I love it just as much as I did the first time! K.A. Tucker is an excellent storyteller and one of my favorite authors. Romeria, a thief from modern-day New York City, is transported to a completely different world where she's a princess wanted for murder. The world building in this book is phenomenal! There's no info...

4.5 ⭐️ this is my first time reading KAT. And I throughly enjoyed A Fate of Wrath and Flame. I understand this is not her typical genre, but she nailed it in so many ways! I’ve read through a lot of the reviews on here and can see why some didn’t care for the book. Yes there are a lot of info dumps and not a whole lot of action. But it’s the first book in the series. I tend expect first books in a series to lean more that way, so I wasn’t disappointed at all. I didn’t find it boring like come...

I completely DEVOURED it in two days. This is probably one of my favorite books I have ever read. The storyline in this book is so amazing and unique. The plot was...

Holy...WOW. I am HOOKED. Hooked, line and sinker on all of the words. On this amazing world. It’s been a while since I’ve read this genre and I’m realising it’s time to dive back in. I love it when a book surprises me but I love it even more when it makes me fall head over heels in love and completely immerse myself in its story. A Fate Of Wrath And Flame did both for me. It is an amazing fantasy romance with action, suspense, romance and unique characters you can’t help but root for....

I really wanted to love this because it sounded amazing but I found it kind of underwhelming. There were parts I really liked and others that just didn't impress me very much THE WORLD WAS AMAZING and it definitely gave me From Blood & Ash vibes, but was still unique and interesting! The world seems so expansive and we've only learned about a littler sliver of it so far so I'm excited to see where the next book takes us I THOUGHT MOST OF THE BOOK was really slow. I'll be honest, I skimmed a lot...
