With Hearts of Flame (Deluxe Limited Edition): A Dark Academia Romantasy Novel of Vampires and Dragons Featuring Stenciled Edges and Illustrated Endpapers (Bloodwing Academy, 4)

by Heather K. Carson
Dragons were not on my apocalypse bingo card.
Neither was getting kidnapped by one.
Life has been crazy, so it shouldn’t be surprising that I’ve been taken by a mythological creature and marked as a potential piece of an apocalyptic prophecy.
Except I’m done being a victim. Dangerous claws or not, I won’t cower to the scary beast who says I’m his fated mate.
But Lucan isn’t what I expected. He’s a warrior who caters to my every need. Beneath his tough exterior is a comforting softness.
For the first time in forever, I feel safe, which is dangerous because real monsters exist. And my dragon makes it easy to forget that fairy tales are for princesses—not for women like me.
If I want my happy ending, I’ll have to fight.
It’s about time I remember how badass I really am.
Let’s just hope it’s not too late…
To Ignite a Dragon’s Desire, book two in the Sulfur & Spice series, is a dual POV, full-length novel where the main couple gets their HEA before the next story takes place. Books are best read in order as the overall plot unravels. Mind the cliff for the next couple in each book. This series is intended for a mature audience who enjoys their banter hot and their relationships spicy.

This story gets more intense each and every page that you turn!! Can not put this series down, heading straight into book 3 thank goodness with Heather Carson I know from previous experience to buy the entire series to begin with so you don’t waste time having to hunt the next book down as soon as that last page is turned!! Am in love with these characters and little Harper you are amazing!! )

This book in the series held much more plot than the first which I liked. It was still a great slow romance heavy on the spice )

Book two raises the stakes - emotionally and literally. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This time it's Riley and Lucan's turn in the dragon seat, and their story starts with a bang. And a kidnapping. But… dragon. So I forgive him. 🤷♀️ \"Then I’d woken in some weird alternate reality where a hot, shirtless man sang to the birds like a frighteningly large Disney princess as he arranged thick slices of meat on a plate.\" Their romance is messy in the best way. There's trauma, distrust, secrets, and a prophecy...

I loved the first one so much I had to get the second one. Again, this book was great, I do feel like these could have been a bit longer and not feel so rushed, however it fits with the time line of the story in what they are facing. I hate that I have to wait for the 3rd! I need to know the conclusion! Still nice and spicy as the first! ) One person found this helpful

Riley and Lucan were and interesting couple and I wrote enjoyed them. They started out rough, what with the kidnapping, but managed to sort things out along the way. I love how Riley came into her own as she battles the trauma of her past. Lucan didn't have quite as much to sort through but more had some family things. It would have been nice to see him have some more growth though. One thing that annoyed me was the part with Drew and how she went about that... Girl, call people ASAP next time...
