About this book

- [x]

The 1 New York Times bestselling author of Lights Out brings her signature high stakes, steamy romance, and suspenseful storytelling to a dark paranormal werewolf romance.

Layla Fitzpatrick lives a simple life, for a werewolf. And that's just how she likes it. Her childhood was less than ideal. She'd like to spend her adult years flying under the radar of more powerful preternatural creatures. Because she knows from experience what happens when they notice you.

Everything changes one early summer night when she attends a ritual bonding ceremony meant to join two werewolves together for life. Midway through, the spell becomes corrupted and she finds herself unexpectedly mated to the stuffiest shifter she's ever laid eyes on.

Michael Kolbeck is more man than wolf. He spends his days in a skyscraper, building his family's empire. At night, he prowls the streets of Boston, a city where shifters, witches, and vampires walk a delicate tightrope of ceasefire masquerading as peace.

Little do they know that Layla's arrival will act as the spark that ignites the fire, and that thin veneer of peace is about to vanish.

Loved it!

Wow! What a story! I was super intrigued just from the synopsis, but I didn't realise how easily I'd fall into this story and world. And let's start there. The world created here was interesting and exciting. There was a lot to establish, but it wasn't done in an overwhelming way. It felt easy to follow and understand. The story was also a unique take on a shifter/paranormal story. Layla's eyes were a great vehicle to see this world through. She was a heroine who was strong, smart, and brave,...

Great book, no ending

November 4, 2024

I really enjoyed all of this book until the end. It cuts off, leaves most of the story untold, makes me kinda not like the guy, and has an actual cliffhanger ending. The rest of the story is apparently on patreon. This I am not a fan of. I hope someday the rest of the book comes out as a second book or something. The ending makes me want to give the book 3 stars, but the writing is so good it would be 5 if it had a proper ending and not a cliffhanger behind a confusing paywall. I’m not even...

I NEED MORE!!!

September 30, 2024

I NEED MORE!!! The Lunatics is told from Layla’s POV in first person. The writing style is so magnificent that it reads so easily and quickly. It is truly bingeable and I am in desperate need of more. There is definitely a cliffhanger, but I have been told we will be getting another book in the near future. So, do not let that stop you from diving in. It jumps right in with Layla attending a multipack mating ceremony in support of her best friend, Gia. Gia is ace and nervous about how that will...

Good story

I actually really enjoyed the story and characters. It had some different elements from other werewolf stories that sets it apart. It felt a bit like “A Discovery of Witches” I hope the author plans on continuing the series. )
