Every book Finley Fenn writes is my new favorite book of hers, and then the next one comes out and it's my new favorite! Geva and Rathgarr are so good together. His personality is dominant and so interesting, we haven't met an Orc like him yet. He quietly watches her and pays attention to what’s important. I was excited about this book, especially having a black female lead. I was happy with the way she was portrayed and I loved her relationship with Rathgarr. This story actually had me shedding a few tears especially with the scene in the tunnel. Definitely recommend reading this book. ) 3 people found this helpful

If I wasn't a fan of Finley Fenn already, I definitely would be after reading this book. I love what she did with Geva and Rathgarr and their history. Reviewing her books is a personal challenge because I feel like I gravitate between how well written this one is and all the emotions that come from reading it. I am a fan of Finley’s books and enjoy each story in this series This was a long satisfying story. Geva is working in a job she hates but can’t escape, then when she is placed in the position of having to help the orc that breaks in, her employment and possibly her life are over.
