4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Minor spoilers ahead! There are many aspects to this book that I ADORED. Consent played a major factor. The MMC always asked permission before trying things with her. Too much of this genre has turned into the guy just taking what he wants and the girl letting him. I’m so over it lol. The characters were both in their 30’s. The Bear on the Mountain (Choose the Bear Book 1) by Jess Abraham is a refreshing cozy, shifter romance. Well paced with charmingly cute characters. I enjoyed the interaction between Luc and Kira. Such a sweet story. The witty banter is refreshing. It was interesting to see how this little shifter bear community got along with the overall community. Ms. Abraham did a great job on this story. First there is an adjacent series of wolf shifters with knots btw. While you don't have to read to understand this one. However I do plan on going back to read that series. Now bear shifter romances are few and far between and was I excited. It blew away my expectations. The plot chef's kiss. The spice on point. The only thing I have to say and it's more of an opinion. The Bear on the Mountain is a sweet, fun story. Luc saves Kira after she's hurt on a hike in the mountains. Luc takes Kira to his cabin. Luc and Kira are attracted to each other. The characters are enjoyable and so is the storyline. The story is entertaining and easy to read. Kira's ex shows up in town and causes problems for her.
