This is the first book in this series. Sara was part of a forced mating. Her mate isn't nice to her and cheats openly. Then one day she wakes up in the hospital. She knows what happened and knows she needs to get away. She manages to with help. Zak is newly retired from the military and is coming home to Otter Creek to be the new sheriff. This is a well written story with great characters. This is one you will need to read carefully, or you will miss things. This one is worth your time. )

4 1/2 stars A suspenseful story that started out with a captivating opening sequence of events that had me on the edge of my seat. The story felt realistic. Good drama, wonderful suspense, great cast of characters and riveting moments. I enjoyed reading this book. )

This was a serviceable shifter romance if you're looking for a specific type of read. I was initially drawn to it because I haven't seen a Polar bear shifter romance before and I was very interested. I can say that there are a few things that didn't make it a stellar read, but there were a few things I liked. Firstly there is DA portrayed on page, and there aren't any trigger warnings. There is also some dubious consent, and I'm not here to yuck anyone's yum, but I do prefer there to be clear...
