Survival is Hard (Second Chances Book 2)

by Letty Frame

About this book

Death was easy. Choosing to survive? That’s the battle I never thought I’d want to face.

I tried to give up. To let the darkness swallow me whole. But my wolf refused—and now I’m left breathing when every part of me feels broken.

My mates don’t give up on me. They fight when I can’t. They hold me when I fall. And they spend their days teaching me how to believe in forever. To trust that I can be loved… wanted… whole.

But survival is never simple.

Hunters still circle me and my pride, determined to end my life—or the lives of those I love.

The return of my wolf couldn’t have come at a worse time. She’s restless, demanding, and desperate for the bonds I’m still too afraid to complete.

Because my first true heat is coming.

With it comes a terrifying choice: surrender to the mates who hold claim to my soul… or lose myself for good this time.

I’ve fought death. Now I have to fight for life.

And if I falter, I won’t be the only one who bleeds.

Survival is Hard is the second book in the completed Second Chances trilogy. Expect fated mates, a devastating slow-burn reverse harem romance, protective alphas, dangerous enemies, and a heroine learning that survival means more than just staying alive.

Surviving the Fight

February 28, 2023

This book was absolutely amazing! I love the story and the showing and depth of mental illness. The author takes us on a journey that is so true to the heart and so absolutely real that some parts of her thinking is heart wrenching. You feel for the character as she goes through her struggles. It's not made up. Nothing is glossed over, and she's not magically cured a few chapters in. It's raw, and it's real, and it's beautiful. This is a true journey of what depression looks like from book one...

A good read

Multiple points of view. Nora thought 6 mates were enough, but then she is kidnapped and discovers her 7th mate. Her other mates are not going to be happy with this development. Nora struggles with mental health issues. It helps her that her newest mate also struggles. If only all the guys could get along, specially since her heat is coming now that she has bonded with her wolf after 6 years. Check your own mental health before reading, some issues could be triggering. I liked it. )

A fun story

Lettuce Frame is a wonderful writer with a great imagination. This story of Nora and her mates is entertaining, sexy and fun. After reading the author’s notes at the end of this box I’m impressed that she was able to write such a wonderfully sexy story of a character that is strong and able to get her life together with Ken that support her. I look forward to reading the next book in this series and other stories from Letty Frame. Thank you Letty and wish you all the best with your health going...

Well.. For the Genre

If you're a fan of the genre, you will like this book. I admit, I should have rated the first one higher, in that the author addresses mental illness, specifically depression in an accurate way . Frankly, I'm not into multi shifters and that universe, as it skews the plot/ drama which drives the book. This is what lost me in the Anita Blake series. No prudish feelings over sex scenes, but a growing feeling of boredom. I found myself skipping over a lot of the sex angst and sex scenes looking to...

Absolutely Beautiful

April 28, 2024

This book was definitely less triggering than the first in terms of suicidal ideation but it was perfect. I’ve searched so much for books with this type of message. A message that I spent years desperately needing. The message that even though you feel worthless or can’t get out of bed because of your mental health, it doesn’t last forever. The pain will end and it gets better if you just hold on. This is something I have to repeatedly remind myself during my lows still and I came upon this...
