I was a little worried when I saw that Mercy’s bond to Adam, and the Pack, was going to be broken. Again. The blurb makes it sound much more familiar than the reality of the circumstances are. I was thankful for that, because I might have been a bit frustrated had I been compelled to deal with the broken bond again. It’s been a long time since a book actually pulled me in enough that I wanted to keep reading to see what would happen. Silence Fallen was a solid 5 stars. I liked that it was vampire-centric, although Marsilia seemed to have more “screen-time” than by beloved Stefan. First, my only real criticism (and this is for the book specifically as well as the series generally): the book basically opens with Mercy getting kidnapped. Again. There are really only so many times a woman should be kidnapped in her life. (I read a book once where the MC was kidnapped at least four times in one book. That's bordering on ridiculous.) Mercy has spent a lot of time in this series getting kidnapped and assaulted. The saving grace is that she does get to spend some time rescuing...

Glorious! I devoured this book in record time. How a series that I initially gave no chance to, could so quickly become one of my absolute favorite series is a bafflement to me. But it is true. To say that I am a fan of the Mercy Thompson series is really an understatement. I have read every book and that actually makes me potentially a great critic. Where other series can start to get stale or predictable this series has remained strong!
