I loved, loved the unfurling of Jules and Ruben’s second chance HEA. The story is filled with all the emotions, the connections and the love. This delicious story evoked all the feels for me. Expect to laugh, cry, gasp, cheer, grind your teeth, bite your knuckles, and swoon while reading. The story included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline. 3.5 stars — I definitely enjoyed this one and the world and the background plot with the vampires and stuff…but I was up and down on my feelings about Ruben and Jules. I will admit that I probably was in the minority of not being overly excited for their story. I know there was definite build up of their past romance and the push and pull between them…but everyone gravitates to different things, and it’s Clara and Henry that have had me salivating more than anything. I have been looking forward to this book since we first met Jules and Ruben and felt that TENSION in book 1! My need for this book continued to grow as I was asking myself why Ruben hasn’t made a move and then I found out they were going on an adventure for work together where they would be alone for several months…count me in. <u><b>NARRATION</b></u> Johanna Fairview narration as the FMC was AMAZING! I loved her new authoritative role and how she could narrate as someone so refine and yet someone who is finally losing herself to her wants. Aiden Snow narration continues to get more refine with each character and i loved it. This book definitely felt like the narrators are taking into account the other narrators inflections or persona. it bittersweet because i know this series is ending soon but i am living for it....
