Nora's Kraken (Monster Relations Bureau Book 1)

by Leigh Miller

About this book

I didn’t flee one monster just to be claimed by another.

When the Monster Relations Bureau tells me I've been identified as a kraken shifter's mate, my first instinct is to run. I learned the hard way what it means to be treated like someone’s possession, and I’m not about to make the same mistake twice.

Only, Elias is… different. Patient and careful with me, willing to wait as long as it takes for me to let him in. The more I learn to trust him, and the more he draws me under with the dark temptation of his touch, the more the defenses I’ve held onto so long start to crumble.

Still, he’s not the only monster I’ve dealt with. And when the human monster from my past finally catches up with me, I’ll have to decide if I trust Elias enough to let him help me, protect me, claim me as his, even though being possessed has only ever left me broken and afraid.

Really fun read!

September 19, 2024

VERY solid and well-thought-out story, great characters, good world building. Fun spicey scenes that are creative and don't feel repetitive. I'm really glad the story got wrapped up so well and didn't end on a cliffhanger. The fantasy fulfillment of having trauma that was mostly psychological taken seriously by a new partner is very very well done. Definitely recommend for a fun, quick monster romance! ) 2 people found this helpful

This was a surprise find by an author I've never read before. While searching through my Kindle Unlimited I came across this book and decided to give it a try and I'm so happy I did this was such a fantastic story. The world building was terrific , the characters had depth and chemistry and it was some of the most pleasant hours I've spent this summer ! I can't wait to read more of the books this author has out. Paranormal beings and humans are living along side one another in this world....

Sweet, spicy, healing, monster romance.

Absolute fantastic read. And one I can relate to on a very personal level, except instead of going to Seattle, I'm running from it with two little ones on tow. Still, knowing so much I do about Seattle had me feel extra connected. I mean, I grew up around it. I still get melancholy about it, but mostly because I haven't found anywhere else is the USA that has THAT good of seafood, lol, but enough reminiscing, back to the review. I really liked both characters, and understood Nora's reluctance...

Kraken fated mate

I did not know much about what this was about but wanted to try another Kraken romance. Nora has had trauma in her past with a possessive and controlling ex who is in politics. She is not happy when she learns she is the mate of a kraken, Elias who is a successful businessman. Elias is willing to go slow and let Nora set the pace. I liked how careful and supportive he was of her. I have not read a shifter romance where the hero can shift between human, half human-monster and fully monster. )
