If you are a fan of horses this book is a must, especially because the author is an avid rider herself and this makes this story so much better. Plus shifter books are fun and full of energy and I haven’t read a horse shifter book before. Kristiana loves her horses and her farm but her father is a whole other story. His gambling addiction has once again put her into a situation she needs to find a way out of. Kristiana decides to enter into the racing world once more and takes the gamble of all...

A different kind of horse, of course. Magical, yet down to earth. (My secret: I wish I could afford the whole series.) Interesting characters and premise, a fascinating story arc, and finally (yes, finally!) a rare creature indeed: a writer who has knowledge of real horses. I caught a few very small typos, and someone needs to crack a dictionary—it's \"all right\", not \"alright\"—a little more. But overall, creative and delightful. Highly recommended. )

From the very start I was hooked! I know nothing about horse racing and I found that fascinating as well. Then there was the bit about yawning that made me laugh out loud. Loved the main characters, especially Kris. Her morales and honor really touched my heart. )

I wasn’t looking for a serious book, I like dark fantasy/paranormal type stuff though I usually lean toward mystery or suspense, not romance. I bought this book because it showed up on a sponsored ad on social media and the description cracked me up. There might have been vodka involved. And I love horses. I love B Baker’s books and this one did not disappoint. Her stories are always enjoyable. The characters are interesting and I love how she intertwines this story with a bit of history, magical elements, suspense, romance, mystery, humor, etc. I don’t know much about horses and racing, but got a feel for it from her descriptions and story. Of course, as soon as I finished reading it, I had to get the next one in the series. Loved it. )
