It started as a terrible plan. Then he caught feelings.
Jason needs to disappear.
So his friends hand him the worst idea ever: become a guide dog.
Violet didn’t move to a quiet little town to become “the brave blind girl.” She came for independence. For a fresh start. For the chance to figure out who she is now after spending the last year rebuilding her life after losing her sight.
So when an enormous guide dog named Jason shows up for a trial match, Violet says yes…
Then Human Jason knocks on her door.
He’s supposedly a cooking instructor for visually impaired clients. He’s charming in a way that should be illegal. And the fact that he shares a name with her dog is the kind of cosmic joke that makes Violet want to fight the universe in a parking lot.
Between grocery-store commentary, weekly lessons, and one wildly inconvenient flutter in Violet’s stomach, her world starts getting bigger again.
Jason thought he was just choosing the safest place to hide.
Violet thought she was just choosing her independence back.
Neither of them planned on the part where ‘temporary’ gets complicated.

There were a few moments where the plot felt a little unclear and left me wondering, but it didn’t take away too much from the overall charm of the story. I also really appreciated the disability representation, as it added an extra layer of depth and inclusivity that made the book feel more inclusive (though I can’t personally speak...

I really liked the concept of the book. The female protagonist is highly relatable and very real world on dealing with an injury that changed everything about how she's able to interact with the world. The author did a very good job conveying how becoming blind changed the way people interacted with the character. The primary male protagonist and his two \"brothers\" had been living on the edge of survival. That's where it dropped for me to three stars, good book, enjoyable read, not great. For...
