Some people may be disappointed, but I am glad the series has returned to it’s roots. Update 8 Sep 2022 spoilers! It was revealed Meryn was pregnant way back in Book 1, My Commander. Either she’s still pregnant or I totally missed the birth and it’s attendant drama. I can’t imagine being pregnant for 13 books. Or maybe she has a stone baby? Honestly while I was reading this book, I totally forgot Meryn was pregnant! By the time this series ends, there will apparently be well over a thousand...

Reading Alanea's books are alway a treat. The stories are just a mixture of intense, then light and love... and then a little dash her and there of Meryn. The love story of Gage and Zoe, was center as the battles in Eyre Danu and the reapers kept us reading with anticipation. I am always glad the her stories always incorporate in some way the warriors and mates from previous books, making things come together. I am always sad for her books to end, but happy to read the next. )

I love this series. A good mixture of love, action, drama, and humor. The books do get more serious as the series progresses. Would definitely recommend )

I love this series, I think I probably always will. I was expecting this book, so I was so excited to go back and reread all the book before this one before picking this one up. I want to say up front this is not really a book you can just pick and up and read without having read the previous books, you are just going to be missing so much of plot from previous books that you just won’t get the full effect. Alanea does a good job of recapping things without it being too much of an info dump,...
