I have been reading Ilona Andrews, and been a rabid squealing fan girl for a lot longer than I have been blogging. Magic Breaks ended on a hell of a note, prompting me to look into plans for a time machine. Unfortunately for me I have neither the funds nor the educational background to enable me to go forward in time to read all the books, so I have had to wait. Magic Shifts by Ilona Andrews is the 8th book in the Kate Daniels series. Although this is technically the 8th installment to this series, this truly is a new beginning to a story arc that I'm very much looking forward to reading about. Magic shifts is both the title and a sly reference to the thrust of this book, shifting away from the clan, shifting towards another life style. I was worried with the wrap up of the last book that some of my favorite characters would be AWOL, but Andrews deftly weaves clan, friends, and family together.
