With Hearts of Flame (Deluxe Limited Edition): A Dark Academia Romantasy Novel of Vampires and Dragons Featuring Stenciled Edges and Illustrated Endpapers (Bloodwing Academy, 4)

Miriam Feldman’s got a murder to solve, a mouthy golem to corral, and her name to clear. Quite frankly, she’s swamped.
Her new gig as a fixer for the magic community is a lot like being a full-time mom to someone else’s kids… they get annoying faster but don’t respond to guilt trips. And sure, maybe she feels kind of grumpy and stabby about these irritating jobs, but that doesn’t mean she killed her latest client!
As far as the magic police are concerned, Miri and her wolf shifter friend Laurent might as well have “guilty of murder” tattooed on their foreheads. If they lose this fight, it’ll be a one-way trip to Deadman’s Island. Talk about a real buzzkill for their easy banter and deepening chemistry.
Even worse, the non-magic cops are also investigating the crime—and her ex-husband is the lead detective. This wasn’t how she meant to pop his cherry about the existence of magic, but the time for foreplay is over.
To unmask the real killer, she’ll have to navigate hidden agendas, lies, and the undead. But hey, she’s faced worse; she used to be on the PTA.
Featuring a smart older heroine with zero effs left to give, laugh-out-loud banter, and a swoony shifter romance, this clever mix of urban fantasy and mystery will have you bingeing 'just one more chapter.'

Made in the Shade by Deborah Wilde is a hilarious addition to Magic After Midlife series. Like the Calgon Bath commercials, Made in the Shade is a book designed to take us experienced women on a magic ride to a world full of laughter, magic, and strange mythical creatures. And what a wild ride it is! Deborah's hero is, in my humble opinion, much more witty than the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and has this Catholic School drop-out wishing she could convert to Judaism ✡️! The situations and dialogue...

Im really having a blast reading all these stories with midlife heriones. Great idea! This book is a nice treat since it takes place close to me but im enjoying it also because of the charators. I appreciate that she has decided to quit hiding and just be herself. Im not wild about books with vampires though but they seem to be main in this series,i think she has brought in enough magic that im not sureshe needed them. ) One person found this helpful

The plot thickens as Miriam learns more about the magical world she abandoned after her parents' deaths. Like the first book in this series, Throwing Shade, there was a lot going on in this book, but it is well handled. The plot moves along at a quick & steady pace, with an underlying mystery slowly pieced together. There was a lot of character development in this book, with Miri growing & learning more about her powers as a Banim Shovavim. Her ex-husband & close friend, Eli, also expands as a...

MagicMidlife2 I’m on a Wilde ride, pardner, and it is awesome! Third series. Second book. Totally loving it. Miri has dropped the law firm and moved onto the magic side of the street. She hasn’t worked out how to let her daughter and her ex know, but, finally, she is choosing more than surviving as a motto. But having magic doesn’t make people more intelligent or better behaved; it just widens their stupidity options. There is still work to be done - because adulting is hard. A fact often...
