Inked in Bloom (Hallowed Harbingers Book 2)

by L.R. Friedman

About this book

Monroe

It’s a bit rude to expect me to embrace immortality while I’m still grieving my own death.

Part of me would love to continue wallowing, but training to bring spring is my best shot at returning home to the mortal world.

To my patients. To the people who need me.

Trouble is, I can’t get my magic to work, I’m the worst in my class, and—to top it all off—I apparently have a mate.

I want nothing more than to get back to my old life, but it’s clear Fate has other plans.

Briar

I’ve never cared much about mortals.

Until her.

After two months trapped in a tiny apartment, I should be grateful to be back with my fellow Blooms. But I can’t stop thinking about the vibrant woman who found and cared for me.

Eager to throw myself into teaching and forget my time earthside, I step into my classroom only to find her sitting there.

She doesn’t recognize me, but she's going to hate me once she learns the truth…

It’s my fault she’s dead.

Inked in Bloom is a rejected mate single dad romance between a therapist coming to terms with her afterlife and her bunny shifter professor.

Note: Set in the Hallowed Harbingers world, this spring standalone takes place after the events of Book 1: Etched in Frost. While it can be read on its own, if you would like to read chronologically to avoid any spoilers, start there first. Inked in Bloom is intended for 18+ readers due to mature content and themes.

Bunnies and Spring

May 11, 2026

Inked in Bloom was great! I wasn’t sure what to expect after Etched in Frost, but harbinger bunny shifters that bring spring was perfect. I loved how we meet Monroe- taking care of Briar in his earthside form. Both Briar and Monroe have huge hearts and worry about the people they love. This was something I could relate to easily. When Monroe struggled with being dead and her worry over everything left undone and the people she loved- it was like you could feel it. Her worry, her love, even her...

Inked in Bloom provides another spectacular romance where believing in magic is required!

⭐️⭐️⭐️️⭐️/ ️🌶️🌶️🌶️ I cannot tell you how excited I have been for book 2 in the Hallowed Harbingers series. LR Friedman has been a long time favorite author of mine and book 1 in this series was fantastic. Inked in Bloom provides another spectacular romance where believing in magic is required. From winter to spring, this book focuses on the magical beings who usher in spring each year. LR also brings the world of the Harbingers more into focus, pulling back the veil to allow us to see more...

Bunny Shifters and spice 🐰

May 14, 2026

The spice is spicing in this one! Bunny shifters, beautiful spring setting, and an intriguing story of love, found family and loss. A true roller-coaster of emotions. I really love the idea of those who pass on becoming the harbingers of the seasons. This is perfect for anyone looking for an emotional but fantastical read that's quite different from everything out there. I cannot wait to see where she takes this series. )

the story I didn't know I needed

May 12, 2026

wow! the emotional processing that goes on throughout the story is handled with care and love. You may see some familiar faces from Etched in Ice... maybe.. you'll have to read both stories for yourselves. This is a must read! Its the book I didn't know I needed to read until I read it. )

LR Friedman has done it again!

May 21, 2026

L.R. Friedman has done it again! Emotion, Artistry, Whimsy, and Magic. This second installation in the Hallowed Harbingers Interconnected Series was all these things and more. First and foremost Lauren’s writing is always beautiful. The way she weaves a story is a blend of stunningly descriptive writing that is always emotionally layered. What I loved most about Inked in Bloom is, unlike book 1, we get to explore more of the world beyond the veil and dive deeper into the lives of the...
