Hot and Badgered: Honey Badgers Chronicles Series, Book 1

by Shelly Laurenston

About this book

It's not every day that a beautiful, naked woman falls out of the sky and lands face-first on grizzly shifter Berg Dunn's hotel balcony. Definitely, they don't usually hop up and demand his best gun. Berg gives the lady a grizzly-sized t-shirt and his cell phone, too, just on style points. And then she's gone, taking his XXXL heart with her. By the time he figures out she's a honey-badger shifter, it's too late.

Honey badgers are survivors. Brutal, vicious, ill-tempered survivors. Or maybe Charlie Taylor-MacKilligan is just pissed that her useless father is trying to get them all killed again, and won't even tell her how. Protecting her little sisters has always been her job, and she's not about to let some pesky giant grizzly protection specialist with a network of every shifter in Manhattan get in her way. Wait. He's trying to help? Why would he want to do that? He's cute enough that she just might let him tag along - that is, if he can keep up....

Contains mature themes.

Almost too much fun

January 27, 2024

I read this months ago but forgot to write a review. So, I decided to reread it and am so happy I did because this book is hilarious. There’s a crazy number of people to keep track of, yes, but I didn’t mind it because it was so much fun to read. • We meet Charlie, the oldest of the McKilligan sisters, and the most level headed of the bunch. They are all different types of hybrid shifters no one wants to claim because their honey-badger father is a complete idiot who lies and steals from...

A great start to a spin-off series

5 stars - I loved it! Charlie Taylor-MacKilligan is used to her life being chaotic but when she and her sisters keep getting attacked she knows her father is most likely involved. Now she is renting a house in a bear neighborhood in the hopes it will keep her sister safe, it helps that her neighbor is kind of cute too. I adored Charlie and Berg. Berg is such an adorably awkward bear and I loved him so much for it. Charlie is the organized and protective sister of the group. She has spent her...

3.5-stars: 'Hot And Badgered' by Shelly Laurenston

August 18, 2025

I’ve been in the mood for a funny PNR, so I was glad to find Hot and Badgered on Libby. This book had been on my TBR list for a while, and I finally made time to read it. It had also been some time since I read a shifter romance. This was my first Shelly Laurenston book, although I have read her books under the G.A. Aiken pen name. I enjoyed Hot and Badgered, but I did have some issues, which I’ll discuss later. This was my first book with a honey badger shifter as the main character, and she’s...

Tears of Laughter

September 7, 2018

I'm here with my eyes flooded with tears of laughter. Shelly Laurenston is genius! Yes it is romance, and I love the deep bonds the wonderful characters of her universe form, but it's the family ties that make these gems sparkle. The honey badger sisters are the BEST. I've loved each and every book of the series, and they are so AWESOME that if you haven't read them yet, DO IT, and enjoy the best quirky humor and deep down to bone and soul family bonds, and nice hot sexy romance. I'm not sure...
