A serial killer is hunting the Pacific Northwest, murdering victims in a gruesome and spectacular way. The local police suspect “monsters” are involved, and have called in Anita Blake and Edward, U.S. Marshals who really know their monsters, to catch the killer.
But some monsters are very real—and even to speak their name can earn you a death sentence. The bogeymen of the vampire world, The Harlequin, are here in America hunting weretigers and human police. Alright...so the book starts out quick and to the point. No drama with Anita leaving, no extra emotional oh poor me, and I'm holier than thou act. No it starts with her and Edward at the crime scene, they both know whats doing it but they can't tell the police so they have to work alone...as always and just how i like it. I didn't like how Skin Trade ended with the sex tactic, but I enjoyed how this one did. I mean everyone said that it was anticlimactic, but you know what I loved the ending! I...

Another book of Laurel K. Hamilton's that I just love. Not for children or other naive people. That's the one thing about being older. You reread all these books again. You remember the circumstances but you don't remember the exact ending. 😂 )

What I liked about this book is that it felt so reminiscent to LKH in Guilty Pleasures. Hit List reads like somewhere in the middle of the spectrum of the Anita Blake series not too raunchy (I'm not complaining about that either) or too prudish from where Anita first began. LKH gave us some hot steamy pages to turn but...

If you read to enjoy the escape into a different world for a while, and you like to keep up with the characters it succeeds very well as entertainment. I'm posting primarily because all the negative reviews almost convinced me not to read this novel, which would have been my loss. If you read to be entertained and...

Anita's latest case has her dancing with danger, where her healing powers come with a twist more complicated than a pretzel at a yoga retreat. Will she crack the case and catch the culprits, or will her supernatural gift turn into a cosmic practical joke? )
