About this book

Hot Fuzz meets shifters, meets buddy cop romance in this sexy, high-stakes M/M omegaverse detective novel.

Detective Constable Oliver Reed enjoys two things in life; tea with biscuits and catching bad guys. For twenty nine years he has walked the tight rope between alpha and omega, but that rope is about to snap when one chilly January afternoon he crosses paths with the devastatingly handsome alpha, Detective Sergeant Lucas White. Tensions skyrocket when the two are forced to work together to take down an omega sex-trafficking ring that is rapidly drowning the sleepy towns of West Newton & High Enfield. However, when the case starts getting out of hand, so too does their desire for one another.

This is a shifter/omegaverse novel, set in an alternative version of England where humans are also wolves, men can get pregnant and everyone has a secondary sex. Your mother will probably judge you for reading this, but who cares? Contains M/M, smut, mpreg, alternative human biology, shifting, Brit-cop humor, sarcasm, a traumatized protagonist, child abuse (implied but never described), and, most importantly, copious amounts of tea drinking. If you're a fan of this genre, you'll know what to expect.

Oh how I just love Lucas and Oliver. I was smiling and laughing throughout the book. There were definitely moments where I had tears in my eyes, but overall it was such a good read.. They sure did have to work up to their HEA, but it was so worth it. I love how Alfie got a happy ending too. There are little hints (at least I think) that lead up to knowing how little Alfie will be. I love all the side characters and the jokes & love between family/friends. I believe this is one of my top...

This was actually great.

The characters feel so real and defined and the rules and settings of the alpha/omega/other universe was clear and consistent. I only wished we could get a point of view from Lucas too, but Oliver was such a maelstrom of EVERYTHING that it leaves you feeling like it's enough. The case was, of course, important. The things that needed fo be said about society (especially these modern times), sex trafficking, and how it relies on complacency were all laid out well. ) One person found this helpful

OMG this was my first time ever reading an OmegaVerse and boy did I eat this book right up. It gave me a Law and Order SVU kinda vibe and I enjoyed everything for the most part, the only displeasure was Oliver's unreasonable pigheadedness I just can't stand grown people acting and doing nonsense just because of pride. Despite that, this was a really enjoyable and lovely read, I loved the action, crime, drama, and family love. ) One person found this helpful
