This book is the continuation of Donna Grant’s Dragon Kings series. Our featured dragon Is Merrill, whom we heard talked about in her earlier Dark Kings series. In this story we learn how much Merrill has taken on over the millenniums. But hiding inside he is becoming more and more angry, enough so that he has distanced himself from the other dragons and the Kings. Donna Grant opened this novel with a complete synopsis of all the dragons and their stories which provided a refresher for all readers past and new as this is an incredibly long series and a launching pad if you are new to the series and need to be grounded in this world. Then the story fully turns to Merrill and Katla. It is so past time for this dragon king to get his story. And, we met Katla in a previous novel, but you just knew she would return. Glad that this book explains more of the authors imaginative worlds. Loved the two redemption of the future mated pair. Did not feel warm and fuzzy about K prior to this story. Purchased set of books and could not find reading order list on author site. Would have purchased adjacent books if I knew I would miss parts. Which I realize I did with the battle scene of the star people. One thing I am very confused about in past books. Mentioned repeatedly that no children are born on this world. But...
