Dead Heat

by Patricia Briggs

About this book

Praised for having “the perfect blend of action, romance, suspense, and paranormal”, 1 New York Times bestselling author Patrica Briggs's Alpha and Omega series now takes readers into the middle of some bad supernatural business…

For once, mated werewolves Charles Cornick and Anna Lantham are not traveling because of Charles’s role as his father’s enforcer. This time, their trip to Arizona is purely personal. Or at least their visit starts out that way...

Charles and Anna soon discover that a dangerous fae being is on the loose, replacing human children with simulacrums. The fae have started a cold war with humanity that's about to heat up—and Charles and Anna are in the crossfire.

Fantastic addition to the series

March 3, 2015

5 Stars! This is a fantastic book! I need to be clear up front that I am a huge fan of Patricia Briggs. I have read and enjoyed all of the books in the Mercy Thompson series and the Alpha & Omega series. I enjoy each series but I think that the Alpha & Omega series is my favorite out of the two. I just love Charles and Anna. I love each of them as individuals and I adore them as a couple. \"The day I met you was the first day I ever felt joy.\" Seriously, how can your heart not melt when...

Continuing the story of Anna and Charles

February 26, 2016

Dead Heat is #4 in Patricia Briggs’ Alpha and Omega series. But its cover is the first to depict both Anna and Charles in human form on the cover. Charles is a wolf on all three of the previous covers. I was not aware of this until I pulled the images for this review. And what it made me realize is this – I do not continue to read the Alpha and Omega series because each new book is tale of werewolf adventure or a saga of the fae/werewolf conflict or even a mystery to be solved (though you will...

TLDR - Still good, not the best. Buy it anyway.

As a general rule, I love anything written by Patricia Briggs. She is, overall, one of my favorite authors. Both her Mercy Thompson series and her Alpha and Omega series are on my \"watch for and read any/all content related to them\" list. This book was no exception to that obsessive stalking and of course, made it into my Amazon cart mysteriously. Seriously, I don't know how it got there, it just showed up and who am I to refuse a lonely book looking for love? This book picks up a little...

Loving this change of pace in one of my favorite urban fantasy series

March 10, 2015

I am a huge, huge fan of Patricia Briggs’ werewolf series. Actually, having read probably 90% of her books and never finding one I disliked, I can say I’m a huge fan of Patricia Briggs, period. But anything out of the Mercy Thompson series (which made #1 on my Alpha Couples list) and the Alpha & Omega series is an automatic buy for me. So there was no question that I was going to be nose-deep in Dead Heat (which was my top anticipated release for March 2015) sometime during the first week of...

A Deeper Dive

March 4, 2015

There is something tremendously satisfying in investing in this series. We are familiar with the characters, but now we take a deeper dive to learn more and care more about Anna and Charles. The Alpha & Omega series is an offshoot of the Mercy Thompson series. I love Mercy Thompson and in that series it is Mercy Thompson + Adam Hauptmann. The Alpha & Omega series is the story of Charles and Anna. Their relationship is as central to the story as any other plot point. This is a deep love story...
