A Throne of Ruin: Deliciously Dark Fairytales, Book 2

by K.F. Breene

About this book

The only thing protecting me from the demons...is the beast. Nyfain, the golden dragon prince, tried to set me free. But there is no freedom in this kingdom. Not for anyone.

The demons have sought me out. They want to trap me. To use me against Nyfain.

It's only a matter of time before they call in the demon king.

Nyfain thinks I should save myself. That I should barter with the demon king to escape this place. But can I give myself to the creature responsible for torturing the people I love?

In order to save them, though, I might not have a choice.

Amazing plot and storyline

January 21, 2026

This book has great characters, plot and storyline. It has a good back story for the rest of the series, which is so important! LOTS of sex scenes, so if you are not into descriptive and surprising visuals, there might be some chapters you may need to skim. ) One person found this helpful

Still a great read but a little repetitive

I enjoyed Book Two in this series - probably more than Book 1 as the reader got to delve a bit more into the kingdom created by the author - but I found it a little repetitive and missing some of the excellent writing and world building that's made Breene a one-click author for me. I like smexy times and am not adverse to dirty talk in my books so it's definitely not this that stopped it from being a five star read from me, however when this overtakes the plot? Not so much. I know this is a...

| shifters | SPICY | LIKE, VERY SPICY | dark fairytale | enemies to lovers | fated mates | dragon shifter | humorous | strong FMC | forbidden love | star-crossed lovers | beauty and the beast | alpha | Okay, so listen- I had criticisms of the first book. Nonetheless, I was intrigued so I kept reading. THIS SERIES TURNS UP. Worth it. If you can get with dark fantasy and you like spice, you’ll love this. Keep reading. This book cleared up the two things I took issue with, fully resolved them. I...

Darker, dirtier, and even more addictive.

A Throne of Ruin picks up the torch from A Ruin of Roses and absolutely scorches the pages. If you thought the first book was filthy, buckle up—this one dives even deeper into the lust, tension, and delicious chaos. The chemistry is off the charts, the banter is sharp, and the sex scenes? Unforgiving, raw, and chef’s kiss for all of us who like our fairy tales NSFW. The plot thickens beautifully too—magic, betrayal, beastly politics, and just enough tenderness to make the dark moments hit...

The second book in the 𝑫𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒍𝒚 𝑫𝒂𝒓𝒌 𝑭𝒂𝒊𝒓𝒚𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒔 series delivers heavily in the smut department. So much so that I wanted to grab a hose and cool things down. Not that I am complaining, but WHEW! The chemistry between Finley and Nyfain is intense, especially with their animalistic instincts. Fated mates? It sure feels like it. That said, I was craving more plot and a solid villain presence. The characters constantly mention the Demon King, yet he remains a shadowy...
