I read this on KU first, and was BLOWN AWAY at how fun and spicy and amusing this story was. It has everything a dark paranormal romance should have and is just another testament to why I will always support Brynne's books. I have yet to read a Brynne Weaver book that I didn’t like, and this whole series was no exception. As she so beautifully does, BW was able to give us a dark romance laced with wit and humor. When I tell you I laughed during this series, I mean a lot. The kind of laugh that bursts loudly out of me and startles my husband sitting next to me. This book started so strong. I was actually enjoying it but once the story started progressing, I started losing interest a little bit at a time. I was expecting Lu to be more badass. She was a five thousand year old vampire but it didn't seem to me that she was that powerful. Don't get me wrong, I did like her... it's just I was expecting more from her. This was an absolute delight to read. The characters, the story, the unique settings. It has everything. From the first few pages I was hooked. Our FMC is pure gold.
